Most men succeed because they are determined to." - George Allen ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Record of John chapter 11 teaches us of the Miracle of Believing and about Not Giving Up. Lazarus whom Jesus Christ loved, became very sick and before Jesus could come to him, he had died. Jesus came and having found out about the death of his dear friend was very sad and wept. He did not however let death be a cause for Him to give up. John 11:21-27 "Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died. But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee. Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again. Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world." This shows us the fantastic believing of Martha towards Jesus Christ. There was no doubt in her heart that had Jesus Christ been there, Lazarus, her brother would not of died. She believed in him. In grief, she had given up, but Jesus Christ had not. John 11:38-44 "Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it. Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days. Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me. And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go." Here Lazarus was dead 4 days in the grave, bound in cloth like a mummy, as they were acustomed to do in burial of their dead, and Jesus Christ yells at him to come forth and OUT HE HOPS!! Wowsers!! AND If this were not amazing enough, Jesus Christ tells us a most fantastic thing here in John 14:12 "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father." Greater Works? w o w ! ! ! We have the power, and the might, given to us through Jesus Christ. All we have to do is believe in Jesus Christ. He goes on to tell us why: John 14:13,14 "And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it." So that THE Father may be glorified in THE Son! Beautiful isn't it? The only thing that can defeat you - - is you. Jesus Christ took captivity captive - He beat the devil for you ... only your doubts, fears, and unbelief can defeat you now. Believing most surely DOES equal Receiving. Do not forget, You have the power of GOD, IN Christ, IN You!! ... Never say die, Never give up! May God Bless You on Your Own Renewed Mind Walk.
