In the Greek language, there is no verb "to be" . The word translated in the KJV as "was" in Gen.1:1 should be "became" ...and this is why. Gen.1:1 "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth - how does God do anything? Perfectly - as perfectly as HE is Perfect - in the beginning God created heaven and earth and how did He create it? Perfectly! It was perfect! ...And Then what happened? We read on... Gen.1:2 "And the earth was (BECAME) without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters." What happened here to cause the earth to become without form and void? We know God would not create a formless void! That is so beneath Him! The bible tells us There was a war in heaven - Isa.14:12-17 "How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms; That made the world as a wilderness..." There was a tremendous war in heaven because Lucifer wanted to be like the most high - he wanted to take over and be GOD ... so there was war! That war caused him and the angels that sided with him to be cast out of heaven and thrown down to the earth - which caused a trmendous upheaval -so bad that that which God had created so perfectly ...became without form and void... REV:12:7-9 speaks of that war... "And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him." In the time period between God's perfect creation Genesis 1:1 and where the earth became without form and void ...like a wilderness ... Gen.1:2 You can have anything you want that we have now ...or that we used to have - yes, dinosaurs even! Any Thing that is Except people ... Why? Because when the Bible uses the word create it means to bring into existance something out of nothing - something that never existed before in any way, shape, or form thus it needed to be created. Reading on, we find that all God had to do was speak into being and what was once in existance and perfect became good again ... Gen.1:3 "And God said, Let there be light: and there was light." The only thing needed to be created after Gen.1:1 was people... Gen.1:26,27 "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them." Everything else prior to man was simply spoke back into being or was made by God - not created until it came to people...then the image of God had to be created for mankind. What is the image of God? John.1:18 "No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him." John 4:24 "God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." The image of God and His angels is spirit. So He created spirit for man and woman so they could worship Him in Spirit and in truth. OK, that explains how dinosaurs or whatever else scientist want to come up with could of been during that time of the first heaven and earth in Genesis 1:1, (we are living in the 2nd heaven and earth). Now about The Fall. Gen.2:15-17 "And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die." The above is a commandment from God almighty. If the commandment was broken, God told Adam "thou shalt surely die." Period. God did not say, you will die a hundred or two hundred or a thousand days later - nope He said "THE Day.." ... not tomorrow but The Very Day... what? ...Thou shalt surely die! It is an absolute - "shalt surely!" no ifs ands or buts about it! Well, we know Adam and Eve lived on and repopulated the earth even though they went against God's will and broke His commandment. So, is God a lier? Nope! Not EVEN Close! Num.23:19 says "God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the Son of Man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?" How then did Adam and Eve die? They lost their LIFE... Spirit. Period. That is what the devil did. He caused them to go against God and they lost their communion with God - their image, their spirit, their life. Just as God said they would. That beautiful, invisible, image of God. Now mankind needs a Savior to give them back what Adam and Eve lost... which was Their life...Spirit! John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." That is why Man needed a savior ... He lost his ability to worship God in Spirit and in truth - He died and needed a savior to communicate with God on God's Level - which is spirit and truth! For our God is Holy and He is Light and can have nothing to do with that which is unholy or of darkness. Romans 8:1-12 "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death." "For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." "For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be." "So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God." "But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you." Praise God for our Lord And Savior Jesus Christ! God's Best Always!!
