I'm through! I'll not take another step!" William threw his tired teenage body to the ground in the sparse shade of the first tree they had seen in several days. Caroline stood beside him anxiously, torn between love and loyalty for her older brother and the fact that the pioneer wagon train was moving on without them. She nudged him gently with her foot. "Come along, William. We don't want to fall behind." "I don't care. Let them go. I'll just stay here the rest of my life." "I shouldn't think that would be very long, since you have no food or blankets." "I don't care," William said, closing his eyes against the dust and heat and, perhaps, life itself. Then he added softly, "It's too far. I can't do it." Caroline was startled by what she was hearing from her brother. They had been through so much together -- their mother's death during childbirth in England; the family's immigration to America via a perilous ocean voyage during which their younger sister died; working with their father to build a new life for themselves in America; and then their father's accidental death just a few weeks before the start of the trek west. They had walked, side-by-side, every step of the way from New York to... well, wherever this place was. And through it all, William had been strong and courageous. Caroline had leaned on his strength, even come to depend upon it. But now, she had to be the strong one. "You can't leave me alone, William," she said. "Not now." "I'm not leaving you," William insisted. "I'm staying. If you go, you'll be leaving me." She paused a moment, watching the dust settle on the parched ground behind the last wagon as it rumbled up the trail. "All right," she said at last. "But at least walk with me the rest of the day. Then you can come back here, if you like." That seemed like a small request to William. Surely he could walk just one more day. It was the least he could do for Caroline. "One more day," he agreed. "Then I'm through." When he arose the next morning, Caroline wasn't in her blanket. He finally found her on a small rise just outside the camp. "See that hill off in the distance there?" she said as he approached her. He turned to look. "Yes," he said. "I see it." "I wish you would walk that far with me," she said. "Then you can go back to your tree." William continued looking at the hill. It didn't seem to be such a great distance. Surely he could walk with Caroline that far. She was, after all, his sister. "I'll walk with you to the hill," he agreed. "But no further." It took two days for the pioneer company to reach the hill, and by then Caroline was focused on a range of mountains looming out there on the western horizon. She persuaded her brother to walk with her "just that far." And then to a distant grove of trees beyond that. And then to the river beyond that. And then to the next range of mountains. And then, suddenly, their journey was over. Caroline had coaxed William into walking with her more than 1,000 miles. She didn't do it by convincing him to walk 1,000 miles all it once. She did it by urging him to walk with her one more day. Life often confronts us with journeys that seem long, and obstacles that appear to be overwhelming. It can be discouraging to look down the road at the enormity of the task before us and to consider all that needs to be done. We need to remember that we rarely accomplish any great thing all at once. Rather, we do it just as Caroline and William did. One hill, one river, one mountain at a time. -- Joseph Walker __________________________________________________ Joseph is a Heartwarmer Gem from Utah. =========================================================== , , /////| ///// | ///// | |~~~| | | |===| |/| | B |/| | | I | | | | B | | | | L | / | E | / |===|/ jgs '---' >-->Which God Are You Standing For? By EMB Did you hear about the latest from the Democratic Leader Maxine Waters? Yes, she is in the news yet again. And again she is talking about God just like she did with her calling people to harass members serving in the Trump Administration. Maxine Waters: "God Is On Our Side," If You See A Member Of Trump Cabinet, "Push Back" Rep. Maxine Waters claimed the favor of the Almighty during a speech at a Capitol Hill. She said "If you see anybody from that (Trump) Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them, and you tell them they're not welcome anymore, anywhere." Now doesn't that sound real Christian like? If you are confused about this type of call to action against people just because of their job, you are not alone! But if that wasn't bad enough, now she is spouting off yet again saying this... Maxine Waters Suggests in Church Sermon That She Was Sent by God to Stop Trump. God can get to the heart of the matter. For us, we are shown how to look at people. God says to look according to his ways and according to the 'fruit of his doings' for the truth and for their heart. Here are a few 'fruit of his doings' that President Trump has done: • Appointed Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch and more than 75 other constitutionally sound federal judges, 30 of which are serving. • Reinstated an expanded Mexico City Policy blocking foreign aid from being used for abortions. • Cracked down on illegal immigration and “sanctuary cities.” As Attorney General Jeff Sessions put it: “The lawlessness, the abdication of the duty to enforce our laws, and the catch and release policies of the past are over.” • Issued an order killing two federal regulations for every new one. In actuality, 16 were cut for every new one in his first year, saving billions. • Engineered a historic tax cut that will save money for more than 80 percent of American households. • Withdrew the U.S. from the Paris Climate Agreement, ending the threat of U.S. governance by international bureaucrats. • Reversed onerous Obama environmental rules that gave the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) ham-handed authority to destroy the coal industry and abrogate landowners’ rights. • Kick-started America’s energy sector by curtailing regulations, facilitating the Keystone XL Pipeline and opening up vast federal areas to oil and gas exploration. • Presided over an economic and stock market boom, lowered unemployment and brought manufacturing jobs back to America from overseas. • Rebuilt the nation’s military, destroyed ISIS and faced down North Korea’s “Rocket Man.” • Issued an order enforcing First Amendment protections for religious liberty. • Restored the freedom of military chaplains to espouse biblical morality, and essentially reversing Mr. Obama’s transgender military policy. • Revoked the Education Department’s order that public schools allow gender-confused males access to girls’ restrooms and locker rooms. • Cracked down on s%x trafficking. President Trump signed a law allowing states to move against s%x-ad Internet sites, and the Justice Department on April 6 seized and shut down Backpage.com, which carried ads for prostitution, including trafficked children. • Overhauled the mismanaged Veterans Administration and giving veterans more health care choices. • Replaced Obamacare incrementally, beginning with a repeal of the individual mandate. • Imposed sanctions on Venezuela’s socialist dictatorship and revising Mr. Obama’s deals with communist Cuba. • Recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and repairing damage that Mr. Obama did to the U.S.-Israel relationship. • Worked with Central American nations to crack down on MS-13 gangs. OK, let’s stop here, though it only scratches the surface. Read more here: https://tinyurl.com/y84q566s Not to mention that under Trump we now have the lowest Black and Hispanic unemployment numbers ever recorded in the US and our women unemployment is at the lowest in some 60 years! I think Maxine Waters needs to stop and think about which God she is standing for and which one is telling her to oppose President Trump who is doing so many Americans so much good in his first year and a half of leadership. What good has she done for the American people? The first thing I noticed is that Maxine's church is an all African church. That alone sets up a red flag to me. No offense, but it seems to me if I am going to an all white or all Asian or all African or all Mexican church, etc. then I am missing the Message of God through Jesus Christ. To show you how naive I am, before Obama, I never knew one race Christian churches even existed! I didn't think it would be considered a Christian church if it were that way because the bible doesn't teach us to group together according to our race and worship God. John.3 [16] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Now, this doesn't say only whites or blacks or Asian or Mexican etc but it says that 'whosoever' - that means all races, all genders, all ages, all the people of the world! GOD LOVES ALL THE PEOPLE! So you may be more comfortable in an all black or all white or all Asian or all Mexican church, but you are not doing what God wants you to do to spread the Gospel to all people... , , /////| ///// | ///// | |~~~| | | |===| |/| | B |/| | | I | | | | B | | | | L | / | E | / |===|/ jgs '---' Mark 13: [10] And the gospel must first be published among all nations (people). [9] In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. [10] Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. [11] Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. [12] No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Therein is the difference. We treat each other with respect and loving kindness because that's what God wants of us. We don't harass people and make people feel uncomfortable and 'unwelcome' just because they work for the Trump administration or support Trump. People think we should turn the other cheek and that 'love our neighbor' means we don't argue with them. Jesus Christ argued with people because He was telling them the truth about themselves and teaching God's way to them. Many on the left say we should have open borders and end ICE. However, this is illogical as in just one country - 'in Ethiopia, 39% of the population is considered extremely poor under conventional measures, but 90% are in multidimensional poverty' - this means we could easily be flooded with people wanting a better life until we as a country are over run. We could easily become a 3rd world country ourselves hurting all our own citizens in the process. Some would say this is God's way to help the poor, but Jesus said... , , /////| ///// | ///// | |~~~| | | |===| |/| | B |/| | | I | | | | B | | | | L | / | E | / |===|/ jgs '---' Mark 14: [7] For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always. Eph.4: [28] Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth. Obviously, Jesus taught that giving is up to the will of the giver and not to be a mandatory thing. If the whole country turns poor who would be left to help the poor? ICE protects us from the bad people that sneak into our country to steal our citizens welfare tax dollars with their needs and all the overall bad guys - gangs, rapists, human traffickers, drug pushers and criminals. , , /////| ///// | ///// | |~~~| | | |===| |/| | B |/| | | I | | | | B | | | | L | / | E | / |===|/ jgs '---' John 10: [10] The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. To me, illegal immigrants are nothing more than thieves that are stealing from each one of us US citizens. We do not invite them here. We do not ask them to stay here. They invade our country and take away our tax dollars that is meant for our own people. If we had someone break into our home and take our own food and clothes and phones and demand we keep them sheltered in our house, educate them, give them all the health care they need, supply them with a job so that they can send the majority of their earnings to their family in their homeland but only pay us a few dollars in return, we would think they were hustlers, thugs, crooks and thieves! But that's exactly what the illegal immigrants that come to America do. And the left wants us to feel sympathy for them. So when Maxine Waters says God is on her side to oppose Trump because of his immigration policy of not wanting illegal immigrants to stay here and treating those that sneak in as criminals and locking them up causing them to be separated from their children just like Obama and all the other Presidents did before him (which by the way Trump tried to fix with an executive order to keep illegal immigrant families together but the court ruled against him), then I have to conclude that the God she is referring to has to be the little g god and not the Capital G God of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. There are two gods of this world. If you aren't standing for the the one and only God who created the entire heaven and earth - the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the God and Father of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ, then you are standing for the devil - the god of this world. The devil doesn't care if you acknowledge him, just doing his works is good enough for him. For those who think they are not standing for either, Sorry. This world is spiritual. Just because you don't take a side in this war doesn't mean you are not in the middle of it. It is happening all around each and every one of us each and every second of each and every day. Like in the wizard of Oz, the devil is behind the curtain throwing his switches and deceiving the world with his great smoke and mirrors and magic tricks. He's been at this long enough to know exactly how to play the spiritual game of war and he does it quite artfully against all of mankind. , , /////| ///// | ///// | |~~~| | | |===| |/| | B |/| | | I | | | | B | | | | L | / | E | / |===|/ jgs '---' Eph.6: [10] Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. We have read a touching incident about three little children, who, last autumn, late in the season, wandered alone in a dreary region of New Brunswick. The sun had already sunk in the west, and the gloom of evening was spreading itself over the surrounding country. The night came on fast; and feeling sure that they could not get home before daybreak, the eldest (a girl of only six years) quietly placed the two little ones in a sheltered nook on the sea-beach; and fearing the cold, chilly night for the younger children, Mary stripped off most of her own clothes to keep them warm. She then started off to gather dry sea-weed, and whatever else she could find, to cover them with. Having tenderly in this way wrought for some time to make them a nest, she at last fell down exhausted with the cold, and half bare to the cold inclement night. That evening the loving father and tender mother sat up wondering at their children's long absence; the hours dragged slowly past with anxious watching, and silent listening for the well-known little pattering feet. In vain the fond parents' eyes pierced through the darkness. At length they roused the neighbors with their anxious inquiries after their lost ones. All that night was passed in searching and in tears, till early in the morning, lying fast asleep, and same- - -what numbed with cold, were found little Johnny and Lizzie. But, oh I a touching spectacle lay near them; their young savior was stiff, cold and dead on the sea-weed which the poor little child-heroine had not strength to drag into the nook, where those she so deeply loved, and died to save, were sleeping. Thus this little New Brunswick girl died in her successful and self-sacrificing endeavor to save her brother and sister. Does not this recall the love of the Lord Jesus Christ to you who read? Mary went to the full extent of human love in dying for her little brother and sister. "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." Yet the Lord Jesus laid down his life for his enemies; for "scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die; but God commendeth His love toward us," etc. He makes no mistakes. Yet how many listen to this story with more emotion and interest than they do to the story of the cross, where the love of Jesus, the Son of God, is told in letters of blood! - Dawn of the Morning. The temptation is to fly by your instincts, or, as aviators say, "by the seat of your pants." But as any pilot will tell you, that's a prescription for disaster. If you rely on your feelings and instincts, you become disoriented, thinking the plane is going up when it's actually going down. Thankfully, the instrument panel is set to magnetic north and can be trusted every time. Letting your instruments guide you, even when it feels like they're wrong, helps ensure safety in the storm. We get help from the control tower too. We all face storms that threaten to confuse and disorient us. It may be a call from the doctor's office, a friend who has betrayed you, or a shattered dream. Those are the times to be especially careful. When you are blinded by life's disappointments, don't trust your instincts. Flying by the seat of your pants in the storms of life can lead to despair, confusion, and vengeful responses that make matters worse. God wants to guide you, and His Word is packed with wisdom and insights for living. His "Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path" (Ps. 119:105). Where He leads is always right! This turned several 50 minute flights into 4 hour flights because of the layovers due to infrequent connecting flights. In the midst of one of these layovers, the wife went up to the counter to get their boarding passes. After reaching the counter, she turned to her husband and said, "Honey, they need to see our ID's." "Why," he responded "they checked them when we entered the terminal." When she called back to him that it was the regulations, he barked, "Well, that's dumb!" Right then he heard the Lord say to him, "Now, that was dumb." After this, the Pastor argued with God about apologizing for about 15 minutes. Finally he went up to the counter and asked for forgiveness before boarding the airplane. "We get yelled at a lot, but no one's ever come up and asked for forgiveness before," said the surprised woman behind the counter. After boarding the plane and taking their seats toward the rear of the plane, a stewardess came up to the Pastor and his wife and informed them that they were in the wrong seats. Sometimes, what we care about the most gets all used up and goes away, never to return before we can say good-bye, say "I love you." My father had just retired from the Air Force, and my family moved from Zweibrucken, Germany, to South Carolina. I hadn't seen my parents since they bought their new house and moved in, so I was anxious to go see them. I left Alexandria, Virginia, early in the morning, in my 1986 Ford Escort. Somehow I knew my car might have a problem on the trip down south; the odometer had 140,000 miles on it. Near Kenly, North Carolina, my car stopped dead in its tracks. Two young men stopped and offered me a ride, but I asked them to call the police for me instead. Then another car approached, and a kind-looking, older man stepped out. He thought I was his son's girlfriend, whom I resembled. He said he also had a funny feeling -- as though he was pulled into the opposite direction to see who was stranded by the side of the road. But even once he saw that I was not his son's girlfriend, he still offered to help. The man identified himself as a Baptist minister. Just as I knew something might go wrong with my car, somehow I knew I could trust him. He arranged for a tow truck to take my car to the closest garage, then asked me to accompany him to a hospital, where he was due to pray for some patients. He then took me home to put me up for the night with his family. His wife and son were surprised to have a visitor, but were equally hospitable. The son did a double take when he saw me; I guess I really looked a lot like his girlfriend. The next day, the minister drove me to Raleigh airport, the nearest place with a car rental agency, to get a car to finish my trip. My car would be repaired while I visited my parents. The next day, the minister drove me to the Raleigh airport car rental agency, so I could finish driving home. My car would be repaired while I visited my parents. When I returned to Raleigh, the minister had arranged to meet me again. He drove with me to return the rental car, then to the garage to pick up my car. When all this happened, I didn't have much money or experience. I don't know what I would have done if he had not come along. My dad made a contribution to his parish as thanks, but this man's kindness was beyond price. Today, my husband and I try to pay this kindness forward. We both help people who are stranded by the side of the road, and at other times, whenever we can. =======HeroicStories======= >-->From CupO'Cheer: _____ / \/_ //\__(\_\ |\ ^ ^ | .//_O \O_ \ \_ (_) / \ \_/ / __/\ /\__ / \ \ / / \ / \/\/\/ \ / | . | \ / | . | \ JRO >AMAZING GRACE Pam Smith Some people are brought up in a godly home or a Christian community. They become Christians when they make the decision to follow Christ themselves and seem to have an easy and respect- able walk with the Lord. Some have never known Christian love, and don’t know such a thing exists. But whoever comes to Jesus Christ, the Father draws him (John 6.44). This is the ‘amazing grace’ of God that the Scriptures talk about. His grace is needed for the one who is privileged with a Christian upbringing, (although he may even go astray), as much as the vilest offender who everyone has written off as worthless. His love reaches to the farthest and lowest place in which a man can find himself. Are you one that feels like giving up because you can’t attain to the standard that you think is required? Have you failed in your walk with God and feel that you don’t match up to other Christians? Are you tired of being ‘lukewarm’ or of thinking you’ll never be good enough? Is the pain too strong, the burden too heavy and the sin so deep that you think you’ll never be really clean? Then join with many others. All Heaven, and the whole of Christendom and the Scriptures declare God’s ‘Amazing Grace’. It reaches down to the very heart of every situation. God still loves you, still cares and still comes right to the depths of wherever you are, with His forgiveness and grace. When you cry out to Him you’ll find Him right beside you. There’s no salvation except by grace. What does God require of you – but to do justly, love mercy and walk humbly with Him by showing your willing heart (Micah 6:8). He will do the rest, for amazing grace is His business. I have been there too. This was my prayer: Prayer: Nothing in my hand I bring, Simply to the cross I cling. Naked come to Thee for dress, Helpless, look to Thee for Grace. Foul I to the fountain fly Wash me Saviour, or I die. Augustus M. Toplady. as seen in Seeds of the Kingdom --- ...Refer to Romans 10:9,10 for salvation: [9] That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. [10] For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Say out loud 'Jesus Christ is my Lord' while you 'believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead' and you are saved! -<>- __________________ _/ || ~-_ ,/ // /~- / ~-_ ________----------// -----------------/-----------------\-------------------____________// O-------------- / ~~^ | | ~| }======{--------\____________________|_____________________________| | \===== / /~~~\ \ \ | ____________________|-~ \----| \___/ ||--------------------'----------| \____/ // ______`.______.'________________________________`._______.'____________ Pedro. >BE A TAXI DRIVER OF THE WORD! "Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path." Psalms 119:105, NLT If you were dropped into a major city of the world, chances are you’d have some idea of the major landmarks that you could visit. In Paris you’d know about the Eiffel Tower, in Sydney you’d head for the Opera House but the one person who really knows about a city is a local taxi (Uber) driver. These guys are amazing! Not only are they normally highly entertaining in their story-telling and maybe a little over-confident in their ability to dodge pedestrians and cyclists – but they know every detail of the city. If traffic starts to build up or a set of traffic lights break down, they know exactly which detour to take so that you can reach the desired destination. They know the main routes but they also know every side road and short cut. This is often how it can work for us and the Bible. We know the major landmarks – Psalms 23, John 3:16, the Sermon on the Mount but we don’t know all the amazing ‘side roads’ of the Word. These are the things that we need to navigate through the accidents and road works of life – the fullness of God’s Word. The reason a taxi driver knows all the details of his city is simply because he spends all of his time there. Every day he drives around its streets. He didn’t know it all when he started out but the more he drove around, the more he knew. The Bible is effectively a ‘city’ with endless side streets - so let’s commit before God to be taxi drivers of this great ‘city’. To spend time in His Word so that we can navigate all that life brings our way and we can know the greatness of our God. as seen in Seeds of the Kingdom -<>- __ /_/\/\ \_\ / /_/ \ \_\/\ \ \_\/ unknow >LOOKING PAST US TO SEE JESUS When my precious wife Lynda passed away... something very special happened in those final moments of her life. I told her "I Love You!" and for the first time in three weeks, she opened her eyes wide and smiled - and then formed those same three words, "I Love You," on her lips. As great as that memory is, something even greater happened. As I continued talking to her about Jesus and heaven, her eyes shifted slightly to my left and to her right. Her eyes opened even wider and the smile on her face was as big as I'd even seen it. I have no doubt she was looking into the face of Jesus. We should make that the goal of our lives. Our desire each day should be that people will look past us and see Jesus - that they would look past our imperfections, our feeble attempts to live as godly men and women and that they would only see Jesus - in all His splendor and glory. Jesus said, "If man wants to be my disciple, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily and follow me." (Luke 9:23) Most of us don't have trouble taking up the cross daily and following Jesus, but we do have trouble "denying ourselves." We have trouble denying what we think is ours - our "rights," our opinions, our thoughts, our attitudes, our feelings, our own way of doing things and following our own self-directed paths. However, the only way people will ever look beyond us and see Jesus is when we "deny ourselves, take up the cross daily and follow Him." Today, may the desire of your heart be that everyone you meet would look past you and see Jesus! --David Langerfeld, Harrisburg Baptist Church, www.harrisburgonline.org -<>- ,--. ,--. Krogg >25 NEW THINGS TO DO TODAY by Anna Newell Jones on 26 June 2012 0 comments It's easy to get into the habit of doing the same things day-in and day-out. Here's are 25 new things to try today to give your life a little bit of a shake-up! (See also: Feeling Stuck? 100 Ways to Change Your Life) 1. Make Sure Everyone You Love Knows It Do the important people in your life know how much they mean to you? When was the last time you told them? Whenever I let this slide I try to remember the season five finale of "Grey's Anatomy" that I randomly watched one day. As weird as it may sound, that episode reminds me why it's so important that loved ones know they're loved. 2. Get Prints Made of Your Digital Images It seems like we're all taking pictures all the time (especially with Instagram's huge fame), but will future generations get to see these shots? Make sure your life's images don't get lost and forgotten. Fill up shoe boxes with photos so that down the road, your kids can go through and wonder about your life. 3. Call Your Mom (More) She loves you and probably wants you to call way more than you do. 4. Run Through a Sprinkler Nothing screams summer quite like running through a sprinkler. When was the last time you did it? This is a cheap idea, and it's a great way to feel like a kid again while doing something responsible — watering your lawn. 5. Say "Yes" to Everything for One Full Day Pull a Jim Carrey in the movie "Yes Man" — see what happens when you open yourself to everything that comes your way. Do you find that you automatically say "no" to things without even really considering them? 6. Conquer Your Public-Speaking Fear by Trying Out Toastmasters Speaking in public can be completely dreadful. What if that fear was removed or if became manageable? Try out Toastmasters. 7. At a Restaurant, Let the Waiter Pick Your Entire Meal I once ate dinner at a restaurant in Montreal called O.Noir. There was not a single light in the place, and we ate in pitch-black darkness. All of the waiters also happened to be blind. Needless to say, it was an unforgettable experience. Apart from the obvious, one of the things that stood out was that they had a "surprise meal" option. You could say if you were vegetarian or if you had other dietary concerns or restrictions, and they would accommodate that, but other than that, your meal was a complete surprise. Letting your waiter pick your meal is a way to get a little bit of the O. Noir experience no matter what city you live in. 8. Sleep in the Buff If you've never done this before, it is completely liberating to try. Just be sure to keep a robe handy in case the fire alarm goes off. 9. Take a Bike Ride Through the City on a Summer Night Here in Denver there is an event called the Moonlight Classic where some streets get shut down and bicyclists take to the road at midnight. The Denver Cruisers also hit the road every Wednesday night throughout the summer. Maybe your city offers something similar? Don't forget a bike light. 10. Write and Send a Hand-Written Letter Everything is email, text, and IM these days. Break out a pen, and put it on paper. 11. Give a Sincere Compliment to at Least Three People Who doesn't love a compliment? I love seeing people light-up and smile when they're complimented. 12. Try Cutting Your Own Hair Cutting your own hair can feel very scary and intimidating the first time, but after you do it once, you'll wonder why you haven't been doing it all this time. (If you mess it up, then I'm sorry, and tell your hair-dresser I'm sorry too. Hey, it grows back, right?) 13. Tip Big If you've ever worked in a restaurant, you know what hard work it is. You come home smelling like spoiled food, and it's a funk that's hard to wash out of your clothes. People can be rude, and the hours are sometimes brutal. Make someone's day by giving them a big tip. Trust me, they deserve it. 14. Shoot a Roll of 35mm Film It can be exciting to not know exactly how a picture is going to turn out. 15. Decide What Your Three Wishes Would Be If a Genie Asked Just have fun with it. 16. Do a "No Spend" Weekend If you're not up for an entire year of no-spending, you can still positively impact your financial life by cutting back, even if it's for just a short amount of time. 17. Buy Bright Red Lipstick or Grow That Mustache My husband hates the bright lipstick I wear. I like it, and I feel good wearing it. Even if no one is a fan of your choices but you, that's OK. Go forward with pride. 18. Take a Technology Break Whenever I go on vacation, one of my favorite parts is that I get a break from technology. It's okay to cut yourself off for a day or two. 19. Wake Up an Hour Early As hard as it is for me to wake-up early, I always feel better when I do. There a peacefulness in those early hours. 20. Throughout the Day, Keep a List of Things You Are Grateful For It's easy to take things for granted. Keeping a list and reviewing it at the end of the day keeps things in perspective. If you can't get yourself to write things down throughout the day, even just thinking about what you're grateful for before you go to sleep a good habit. 21. Make a Recipe You've Bookmarked On The Internet If you're anything like me, when you look at the internet, you get motivated to make and do lots of things but also discouraged that you're not making and doing lots of things. How many times do you make something you've pinned? Practically never? Today might be a good day to give one a go. 22. Get a Cardboard Box, Fill It Up With Clutter, and Donate It Clearing out unwanted and useless junk feels good. Plain and simple. 23. Spend 20 Minutes Watching Funny Videos Laughing is good for you, and there is a lot of funniness happening on the internet. 24. Create an Alter-Ego for Yourself Do you wish your name was Natasha or Sven, you ran 20 miles a day, always stood up for the underdog, and had the most magnetic personality ever? Why not create that dimension of your personality in your mind and tap into it when you need extra strength? 25. Make a List of 33 Things to Do Before Your 33rd Birthday It doesn't matter if you're turning 33 on your next birthday, or 20, or 63. Whatever stage you're at in life, create a list of things that you hope to accomplish before your next birthday. from 'Living Large on a Small Budget' To SUBSCRIBE: Send an e-mail with SUBSCRIBE CUP O'CHEER in the subject line to cheer316kim@sc.rr.com. ========================================================== , , /////| ///// | ///// | |~~~| | | |===| |/| | B |/| | | I | | | | B | | | | L | / | E | / |===|/ jgs '---' >-->TRUTH Let me always walk in Truth Teach me, Lord, Your Way The sum of Your Word is Truth Guiding my journey each day The world deceived sees truth Relative to the opinions of each Yet You prove that Truth is absolute Its perfection to me You teach Truth is constant, unchanging It shifts not when the wind does blow Truth is pure, righteous, eternal Hearts transform when Truth they know Christ Himself is the Truth His Life embodied the Eternal Word He lives in those who live in Truth Those practicing what they heard God brought His beloved children forth By Truth in His perfect divine Will That we may be born again in Spirit And that all our needs He would fill Though the Law came through Moses Through Christ came Truth and Grace His Message spreads across the world A Gospel of salvation for the human race Dear Lord, sanctify me in the Truth Purify me in the Word You speak May I grow ever more kind and loving Ever more courageous, joyful and meek For sweet is Your Word, my Father Precious the Word that You give Powerful in changing hearts and minds That every soul may eternally live I lift my heart to you, Eternal One I sing my Father's praises all day long How I love Him for leading me in Truth So I share with all this glorious song Seek the Truth, embrace its Beauty Let it fill your heart, transform your mind Eternal, Pure, Just, Loving and Living So treasured is Truth when it we find So may we walk always in Truth May our Lord teach us His Way For the sum of God's Word is Truth Guiding our journeys each day -Author Unknown >Updated FUN STUFF URLS - Oh Yeah Shangy! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ http://www.ShangralaFamilyFun.com/urls.html FUN URLS ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -->FULL LENGTH - FREE On line AUDIO MP3 Christian Foundational Class http://www.truthortradition.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=61 NEW LIFE IN CHRIST! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -->This is for all you who love food and DARE to make it at home Yep.
