ON MARCH 9TH AND WORLDWIDE ON MARCH 15TH! https://superpowerdogs.com/ Ricochet, a registered and certified goal-directed therapy dog is one of five dogs in the film. The other four include Henry, an avalanche rescue dog, Reef, a water rescue dog, Halo, a search and rescue dog and Tipper/Tony who sniff out poachers in South Africa. All these dogs rescue individuals in physical trauma. Ricochet, on the other paw, rescues people from emotional trauma, such as PTSD. Every 65 minutes a veteran with PTSD takes their life by suicide! “It is because of these staggering statistics that Ricochet is participating in the film”, said Judy Fridono, Ricochet’s guardian. Her hope is that more light will be shed on our military war heroes who are suffering in silence, and how dogs can help in their recovery. The film takes you on a journey around the globe with narrator, Chris Evans (Captain America) as he introduces you to these remarkable dogs. 3D cameras and computer graphics were utilized so audiences can experience the world through the eyes, ears, and nose of a dog. All the "extras" on set were kids, families and the water team that have been on Ricochet's journey since the beginning. Ricochet’s sequence will showcase how she balances boards - and lives! It focuses on her ability to enrich the well-being of veterans with PTSD and children with special needs through the healing power of the ocean, and the healing power of a dog. Watch The Official Trailer Here: Superpower Dogs Official Trailer | Experience it in IMAX® https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MmWhKcAcvNo&feature=youtu.be “I just hope Ricochet’s sequence will be the catalyst that gives hope to veterans with PTSD who are suffering in silence or contemplating suicide, as well as anyone else who is faced with emotional, physical or cognitive challenges”, said Fridono. --- ...Wow! Zion Baptist Church. "You are a sleeping child who has been lulled to sleep by apathy," he told the crowd of about 10,000. The church's 10th annual College Sunday Service featured a marching band, a combination choir from several colleges and a gospel sermon based on the story of Joseph. Walker made his "Wake Up and Pass the Torch" message before that sermon. Noting that two-thirds of registered voters did not participate in the mid-term elections, he called on the young people to register and start showing up at the polls. "Let Washington know we are here," Walker said. "Let the next president of the United States know we are here. Let the next mayor of Nashville know we are here. Let the school system know we're here. I watched the curtains move, as the wind found a way through the seals around the moldings. Under the blankets, I sweated with a fever. Frost gathered on the inside of the window. The old wood stove couldn't keep it at bay. Mum sat on the bed beside me. She read "The Three Little Pigs" by lamp light. The power had been out for hours. Outside the storm howled. A violent gust of wind struck from the northeast. The house shook. I pulled the blankets closer. "Was that the big bad wolf, Mum?" "No, Michael. That's just the storm. It will be over in the morning. The Big Bad Wolf is just a story. He's not real." "OK." I had total faith in her. She was my Mum and would never let the wolf get to me. Those comforting moments with my Mum stuck with me. Years later, as another storm blew through Nova Scotia, I sat on the edge of my daughter's bed and read stories to her. I'd come full circle. I was read to and now read to my own child. Both of us became fans of books. I moved on to reading to my grandchildren. I have inspired them to explore the magical world of words. She never tried to speak, she never said a word. Many people passed, but never did one person stop. Just so happens, the next day I decided to go back to the park, curious if the little girl would still be there. Right in the very spot as she was yesterday, she sat perched on high, with the saddest look in her eyes. Today I was to make my own move and walk over to the little girl. As we all know, a park full of strange people is not a place for young children to play alone. As I began walking towards her, I could see the back of the little girl's dress indicated a deformity. I figured that was the reason the people just passed by and made no effort to help. As I got closer, the little girl slightly lowered her eyes to avoid my intent stare. I could see the shape of her back more clearly. It was grotesquely shaped in a humped over form. I smiled to let her know it was OK, I was there to help, to talk. I sat down beside her and opened with a simple Hello. The little girl acted shocked and stammered a "hi" after a long stare into my eyes. I smiled and she shyly smiled back. We talked 'til darkness fell and the park was completely empty. Everyone was gone and we at once were alone. I asked the girl why she was so sad. The little girl looked at me and with a sad face said, "Because I'm different." I immediately said "that you are!" and smiled. The little girl acted even sadder, she said, "I know." "Little girl," I said, "you remind me of an angel, sweet and innocent." She looked at me and smiled, slowly she stood to her feet, and said, "Really?" "Yes, dear, you're like a little guardian angel sent to watch over all those people walking by." She nodded her head "yes" and smiled, and with that she spread her wings and said, "I am. I'm your guardian angel," with a twinkle in her eye. I was speechless. Surely I was seeing things. She said, "For once you thought of someone other than yourself, my job here is done." Immediately I stood to my feet and said, "Wait, so why did no one stop to help an angel?" She looked at me and smiled, "You're the only one who could see me, and you believed it in your heart." And She was gone. And with that my life was changed dramatically. So, when you think you're all you have, remember, your angel is always watching over you. It was about a young boy that is involved in a car accident and calls home to tell his parents he was sorry about the damage to the car. The father told the boy not to worry about the car, as long as the boy was okay. That commercial reminded me of my brother Eli. Eli was a drug addict back in 1980, and because he used the drugs in front of my kids (he wasn't even supposed to have them in the house) I kicked him out and did not speak to him for 10 years. In 1990, he ended up in jail for most of the year. When he got out, he was clean and drug-free and returned to Georgia. I was leery of him coming back, especially around my children, but he was family and my mom asked me to at least be civil towards him. So I was. Surprisingly, I introduced him to the missionaries from my church and, within two weeks, he became a member of my church. From that point on, he was the brother I remembered from my teen years. He was honest, hard-working, and always thought about others. Well, my dad owned a Gold Wing motorcycle that he cherished. One day, my brother needed a way to work and begged my dad to let him use the Gold Wing. Reluctantly, my dad agreed. But he added the phrase: If you damage my motorcycle, you better not come back! Eli never came back... You see, on his way home from work that night, my brother was hit and killed by a motorist. The day after my brother died, my dad and I went to pick up the motorcycle from the police impound lot. We couldn't believe our eyes. The motorcycle had received only a few minor scrapes. That was when my dad said something that made me realize just how much he loved his children (he never said the words, I love you.) He said, "I would rather have my son back than this motorcycle." My dad sold that motorcycle for scrap two days after the funeral. He has not been on a motorcycle since. That's why I am so touched by the Ford Taurus commercial. That's also why I have to tell everyone to forgive and forget. I didn't speak to my brother for ten years, and then I was only allowed one year to make up for all the years I had missed. He died exactly one year after joining my church. I never told him I forgive him. I hope he knows that now.. ~ Kathy Grimes -<>- >Links for Your Enjoyment: Whale Rescue 2!- http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/whalerescue2.html Giant Panda Bear!- http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/pandabear.html Desert Skiing!- http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/desertskiing.html Hiking In China!- http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/trail.html Sunken Treasure In A Field!- http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/steamboat.html Brilliant Women Inventors!- http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/womeninventors.html Singapore's Sky Park!- http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/skypark.html The Real Angry Birds!- http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/angrybirds.html The Story Of LuLu!- http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/poems/kanga.html Kids On God!- http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/kidsonGod.html The Bible!- http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/thebible.html Love Thoughts!- http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/love.html Dreamy Ladies!- http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/dreamy.html When God Paints!- http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/gpaints.html Jesus Laughing Art!- http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/Jesusart.html You Have 6 Minutes!- http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/lovetest.html In A Blink Of An Eye!- http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/eye.html Thank You Lord!- http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/thanks.html Full Bible Study Menu http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/BibleStudy/BibleStudy.html Spring Menu! https://tinyurl.com/y4xyz2w8 -<>- What does the Bible say about Heaven? https://tinyurl.com/y69o8378 Presenting Jesus—Rightly https://tinyurl.com/y37vnb9d What does the Bible say about Love? https://tinyurl.com/y3cffrk5 Simple Man - Lynyrd Skynyrd - Lyrics HD https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sMmTkKz60W8 Snowblind Friend - Steppenwolf https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OMxCi3ljWEg Ten Years After - I'd Love To Change The World https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyaFeDlJJAk -<>- >In The News: Trump cuts short North Korea summit after dispute over sanctions: 'Sometimes you have to walk' President Trump abruptly walked away from negotiations with North Korea in Vietnam and headed back to Washington on Thursday afternoon, saying the U.S. is unwilling to meet Kim Jong Un's demand of lifting all sanctions on the rogue regime without first securing its meaningful commitment to denuclearization. https://tinyurl.com/yydzxsen No Deal? - Hannity Thoughts https://video.foxnews.com/v/6008281376001/ Product Alert: Chicken, Pretzels, Trampolines http://www.emergencyemail.org/products/?fmt=text African-American Trump backer blasts Dem Rep. They are dying and what does their government do? The military burns medical aide (medicine needed to help over 400,000 down with malaria!), food and staples for babies! They fight off the people wounding over 300 to keep them away from the semi trucks of supplies. Of course, they made sure only the military have guns so the people haven't got much of a chance in fighting against them - Firing live rounds into the groups trying to get at the food. Sad situation for sure! We need to stamp out socialism at every instance of its ugly head! Teach our youth the evils of it! IT HAS NEVER EVER WORKED for the good of a society - EVER in history! So why are all these Democrats signing on to it? Just like they don't care about babies being born alive during an abortion and won't vote to protect them from being left unattended to die a slow agonizing death alone and unloved, they obviously don't care about 'we the people' either. Tips to stay safe: It is always better to be safe than sorry, which is why improving your home defense is utterly necessary. Read on to find out some safety tips for answering your door. Sometimes, it is hard to be cautious yet polite when answering the front door. Many of us find it difficult to put safety first without feeling like we’re being rude. But nowadays, we can’t be too trusting because not all bad guys actually break into our houses. There are times they simply knock on our door, pretending to be someone else, and mask their evil intentions. We'll discuss some ways to stay safe when someone darkens your doorway. Before you answer the door, think if you are expecting anyone. Whether or not you are, ask the visitor to identify himself. Do not open the door immediately without asking them first who they are, particularly if you’re home alone. When you hear someone knocking on your door, it is always best to check the peep hole first before opening it. If you can’t get a glimpse of the person knocking, you can use your window to take a peak. You’ll be able to determine if it’s a family member or a friend or it can also be a utility company vehicle. When someone is looking for a particular family member, it would be best to take a picture of the visitor and send it to whoever needs to confirm. You can also just call them and ask if they are expecting a visitor and if they know who the person is. Being able to crack the door open without unchaining your lock is a great security feature. This is also useful if you need to grab something small from someone without the need to unlock the door. Call whoever your visitor says they represent to ensure they did send someone out to your home. If it is a repair guy, look for the number of their office in the phone book or search the internet yourself. Do not just simply call the number the visitor gave you. Keep emergency weapons around just in case something bad happens. Place them close to you or some place easy to reach, especially at night. It’s a last resort, but having a weapon nearby can spell the difference between life and death. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. If you feel like something is wrong, there’s probably something wrong. Go with your gut! Do not ignore your “gut feeling” because it can save your life. It is an unspoken part of situational awareness. On the occasion you cannot verify the visitor’s identity, reschedule their appointment on a later date. This will give you time to check on them and to ensure you know who they are before allowing them inside your home. Educate every member of your household on these practices to keep the whole family safe. Stay cautious and teach your family to do the same. Knowing the best safety practices when someone knocks on your door can help you have a more secure and happy home. Nowadays, we can’t always be so trusting. We no longer have the luxury of simply believing a stranger’s word without questioning first. With home invasions happening all over, you have to be extra sure before letting a visitor in. Taking these steps to ensure your safety is necessary especially if you are home alone. Precaution is key when approaching a visitor at your door. Stay safe! With an empty feeling inside, I knew I had potential to do better, so after five long years I quit. I had a week to find a new job to meet my car payment, rent, etc. Just a week. Having quit on Monday, Tuesday my friend Jeff called. Jeff has cerebral palsy and asked me to care for him because his regular worker would finish that week. The next day I applied at the company which hired his caretakers. I started working with Jeff the following week. It was difficult, as I provided full-time care, made far less money than previously, and it required working more hours than I could be paid for. But it was rewarding. I began to believe in Jeff, to see he had so much potential. That summer Jeff decided to go back to school. To make it happen, I'd need to go, too, so with the interest we both have in computers, we applied at a local college. They accepted us and the only drawback was my tuition money. I wrote student loans explaining my situation. At that point, many people pressured us not to go back to school. People said Jeff probably couldn't do the work because of his disabilities. I understood people wanted him to be realistic about what he attempts. I decided to yield, to abandon my chance for school, and was hired part-time at city hospital as a patient-care attendant. The morning I planned to quit the school called — and said to start anyway, don't worry about money. We started. Daily we left Jeff's place at 7:00 a.m. and went to school until 5:00 pm. That fall I nervously wrote and called about my student loan — still no word. After Christmas, I miraculously received my money, and finally paid the school. During the 19 month class many people left because they couldn't handle it. Jeff soared to the top of the class and excelled in all subjects. He was amazing. My marks weren't that great, but I passed every course and we both graduated. When I pushed Jeff across the stage graduation night his wheelchair seemed lighter. I cried that night when I got home — we did it. At one point, I nearly gave up because people said I couldn't do it, because there was no money. We had a goal, went the distance, and made it across the finish line, not alone but together. You should have seen Jeff's face at graduation... when they called him up for the "outstanding achievement" award. We are presently working at "on the job training" at a software company. Underneath it all, we owe our chance to the people at student loans. We're not sure where this road will lead, but it's already taken us farther than I could have imagined. It is proof that dreams sometimes come true, with a little help at the right time. =======HeroicStories======= .---. .---. ,';' `.';' `.. f :Bo. ` d88: `\ /d88P' `\ ; /d888P' `. Beau, his mate Muffy and their two-year-old pups Bear and Buddy snuggled into blankets in the back of the truck for a seventeen- hour-long drive. Our retrievers quickly adjusted to their new home. They loved the large backyard with plenty of room to chase a ball. Soon after we arrived, however, Beau began to have spasms of sneezing. I was sure it was allergies. But our new veterinarian told us that Beau had inoperable nasal cancer and had about three months to live. Beau was thirteen years old, a ripe old age for a golden retriever. He didn't seem to be in pain; he enjoyed his food and romped with the younger dogs. However, slowly he grew more tired. Finally, as the cancer advanced and his breathing grew labored, I knew that the most loving thing to do was to release Beau from suffering. As we entered the veterinarian's office, Beau was calm, almost regal. His nose was bleeding badly but he seemed not to care. Walking into the examining room, he suddenly leaned against the wall and slowly slumped to the floor. Beth nudged me and whispered, "Look at him. He's relieved. He's ready to go." Beth and I held Beau in our arms as the shot was administered and he slipped into a deep and peaceful slumber. We cried a lot, more than I have wept in years. But amid our pain was peace, completion and profound thanksgiving. Beau taught me a lot about living. And in his final moments he taught me a lot about dying too. Somehow my best friend let me know that all will be well and there is nothing to fear. Tell the children you’d like to give a gift to someone, and ask for a volunteer who thinks he can jump very high. After allowing a volunteer to display some “practice jumps”, show him the gift that is out of reach. Undoubtedly, he will try but will be unable to grasp the gift. Tell the children you’d like to introduce them to a friend of yours (before the sermon, choose someone tall from your congregation to fill this role). Tell the volunteer that if he simply asks your friend for help, the gift will be in reach. Have your “friend” lift the volunteer high enough to reach the gift. Ask the children why the volunteer couldn’t get the gift by himself. Use this opportunity to explain that the Bible tells us that we are “short”: “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). Continue to explain that you have a friend named Jesus who will be glad to help any of them reach the gift of eternal life, if they’ll simply ask Him for help. You can continue with the rest of the “Romans Road” or explain the gospel in your own words. as seen at www.RobertJMorgan.com -<>- . ... ....... .....:::..... ....:::::::::::::.... ....:::::::::::::::::.... ..:::::::::::: = ::::::::::.... ..:::::::::: === ::::::::::.... ..:::::::::::: ====== ::::::::::.... ..:::::::::: =========== ::::::::... ..:::::::::: ================ ::::::::.. ..:::::::::: ======= . ========= ::::::::... ..:::::::::: ======== |\ ======== :::::::::... ..:::::::::: ======== |#\ ======== :::::::::... .:::::::::: ======== /%#| ======= :::::::::.. .:::::::::: ======= /#%#| ======= :::::::::.. .:::::::::: ====== |#%#/ ======== :::::::::.. ..::::::::: ====== \%/ ======== :::::::::.. ..::::::::: ====== % ======= ::::::::::.. ..::::::::: ===___%____=== ::::::::::.. ..:::::::::: | .::. | ::::::::::... .:::::::::: | .::. | ::::::::::.. ..:::::::: | .::. | ::::::::... .:::::::: | .::. | ::::::::.. ...:::: | .::. | ::::.... ..:::: | .::. | ::::... .... | .::. | .... .. | .::. | .. loam >ANALOGY This darkness is so dense I can’t see even a hint of light. By Mary Southerland [edited] Key verse: “When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child does. But when I grew up, I put away childish things.” 1 Corinthians 13:11 (NLT) Devotion: I remember the first time I saw the movie, “Peter Pan”. I was a little girl, totally mesmerized by the character of Peter and wanted to be just like him. After the movie was over I immediately ran into my back yard and jumped out of a tree – trying to fly! Fortunately, nothing was broken and I quickly decided that I could be contented with being like Peter in other ways. So I vowed to never grow up! I agreed with him that the adult world seemed frightening; it was very large and demanding, completely beyond my control. But life goes on and I somehow managed to navigate the treacher- ous waters of life, finding myself happily married with two children. Once again I wished that time would stop or at least slow down so that my children would stay babies. Of course, that wish did not come true either. Today, Jered is a sophomore in college and Danna is a junior in high school. They are wonderful young adults who bring us great joy and teach us so much about life. The desire to grow is a healthy desire and a natural process in human development. The same principle is true when it comes to our spiritual develop- ment and growth. If the desire to grow is not present in our lives there is something wrong with our spiritual health. Healthy Christians grow and mature. It is natural for the Christian to grow and mature in Christ. God not only wants us to grow, He commands it! The Apostle Paul wrote a letter to the church at Corinth, correcting them for their childish attitudes about the spiritual gifts of tongues, knowledge and prophecy. He encouraged them to grow up, to put away their fears of 'cannot do' and to seek to grow more confident with God's love, faith and hope. We can apply this same encouragement to our lives today. It is time for us as Christians to become mature believers by putting away immature attitudes and actions. One of the most obvious marks of maturity or immaturity is how we use words. Mature believers do not speak like children. You never know exactly what a child is going to say but we naturally expect childish words to come from children. Paul is saying that a great measurement of maturity for us as Christians is how well we use words. Our words need to be controlled. In the book of James we find a sobering challenge. “We all make many mistakes, but those who control their tongues can also control themselves in every other way.” James 3:2 (NLT) If we can control our tongues we can control ourselves. James, a disciple of Jesus, compares the tongue to the rudder on a ship, a bit in the horse’s mouth or a spark that starts a huge fire. The tongue is powerful and difficult to control. Our words can give or destroy life. Once a word is spoken it is eternal, never to be unspoken. Our words need to be encouraging. One of the highest responsi- bilities in the body of Christ is to practice encouragement. A word of encouragement may be a life preserver to someone drowning in the storm of life. Our words need to be truthful. Mark Twain said, “A lie can travel half way around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes.” Lies hold us in bondage while truth sets us free. We need to be extremely careful what we say and how we say it because the spoken word is powerful. It can bless or curse, express praise or whisper slander. It can be a tool of blessing or a weapon of destruction. How we use the tongue is a dead give-away of our spiritual maturity. If we do not learn to control our tongue, it will control us! It is time to grow up in our words. My prayer for today: Father, I confess that in many ways I am still so childish and lack maturity. I now lay those areas before you and ask that you take control, teaching me your ways. Lord, help me to control my tongue and speak words that would encourage and build others up. Right now, I give myself anew to you and pray that in the days to come I will grow up so that others will see you in my life. In Jesus Christ's name, Amen. Application steps: Take some time to evaluate the maturity level in every area of life – especially in the words you speak. Reflection points: In what areas have I grown since becoming a Christian? What are the areas in which I need to mature? How would others describe the words that I speak? ___My husband ___My children ___My neighbors ___My co-workers ___My friends How can I mature and grow in the use of words? Who is there in my life that needs a word of encouragement today? How can I meet that need? Power verses: Ephesians 4; 15 Speaking the truth with love, we will grow up in every way into Christ, who is the head. (NCV) Colossians 1:10-11 We pray that you will also have great wisdom and understanding in spiritual things so that you will love the kind of life that honors and pleases the Lord in every way. You will produce fruit in every good work and grow in the knowledge of God. God will strengthen you with his own great power so that you will not give up when troubles come, but you will be patient. (NCV) James 3:5-6 Likewise the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell. (NIV) Colossians 4:6 Let your conversation be gracious and effective so that you will have the right answer for everyone. Colossian 1:28 So we continue to preach Christ to all men. We use all wisdom to warn and to teach everyone. We are trying to bring each one into God’s presence as a mature person in Christ.
