Summer vacation equals freedom! A time to be free like the ever-present, ravenous gulls on outstretched wings keeping a watchful eye out for unguarded tidbits. As a kid, the lazy, hazy days of summer seemed to stretch into infinity. A gift of seventy-five precious days to do as I pleased. My first mission was to head to the general store, a stone's throw from our house. With one thin dime the fisherman or fisher-girl got a real bargain -- a length of green twine on a spool and two shiny black hooks (that wouldn't be shiny for long), one lead sinker, and a summer of shear pleasure. Between tides, I'd fit in baseball, Tarzan swings, frog hunting, marbles, and playing school. High tides found me a few yards from our house on the end of my deceased grandfather's wharf. I'd be on the dry end of a fishing line, with a baited hook dangling in the cold Atlantic waters, awaiting the tug of a harbor pollack. To me, the wharf -- at that time run by my uncle and dad -- was the most exciting place on our small island community. Fishermen selling their lobster catch, wharf hands scrambling up or down the ladders, boat engines roaring, gulls squawking overhead, and free bait for them and me. On rainy days, men would gather in the small shop. The wood stove kept every body toasty warm while they told their fish stories. Best of all, a glass case full candy bars offered its sweet contents in exchange for a nickel. Daddy showed me how to clean the fish and pickle them overnight in salt brine. By deft use of a blade, I could cut the head off and gut the fish in one precise movement. The next morning, I'd match the fish up by size and tie two together by their tails, or three if I had an "odd fish out" to hang over the clothesline behind our house. My fish were organized on the clothesline, smallest to largest. Then I'd be ready to catch another batch. My hands perpetually smelled of fish perfume, enough to make any tomboy proud. Like a miser, I'd count my horde every day. If flies were trying to "blow my fish", I'd pepper the gullet openings hoping to keep them from using my fish as an incubator. These dried fish would taste mighty good in the cold of winter with mashed potatoes and cream style corn. Some would be summer treats. Occasionally, I'd discover I had several fish less than the day before. Some of the smallest would be missing. When I mentioned my loss of fish, my brother said, "Probably some hungry gull after a free meal." Determined to keep the gulls at bay, I tied several brown paper bags to the clothes line in strategic locations. But still the smallest, driest fish continued to disappear. One afternoon, my tomboy intuition told me to check on my fish for thieving gulls. There stood the "gull" -- jackknife in hand, peeling the skin off the driest of the fish. "I'm inspecting these to see if you salted them correctly," he informed me as if he were an FDA agent. In my eyes, no matter what my brother did was fine by me. No matter what he told me, I swallowed his every word -- hook, line and sinker. You could say I was the gull-ible one. And I still am, where my brother is concerned. He is loved as much today as he was in years gone by, maybe even more, for adding such colorful memories to my life. -- Kay Seefeldt ___________________________________________ Kay lives in Maine and enjoys writing stories about her family, many of which have been published on several on-line ezines. She hopes to compile these stories into a book for her children and grandchildren. This story was a gift of words to her brother who celebrated his birthday on June 7. By the way, "blowing the fish" means the flies were laying eggs in them. ========================================================== >-->From Our Friend Bunni :) , , /////| ///// | ///// | |~~~| | | |===| |/| | B |/| | | I | | | | B | | | | L | / | E | / |===|/ jgs '---' >SCRIPTURES recognition in life. And it's easy to see that kindness Has the power to reach far beyond itself. In the most difficult of moments kindness heals and reassures. Kindness gives comfort and hope Where there was none before. Kindness can inspire confidence. It changes for the better The perspective of those it touches. When you seek to make a difference kindness is a great place to start. Just the simple desire to give it Is all you really must have. So give kindness freely And without hesitation. Whether you get it back Does not really even matter for its true value is in the giving. Live with kindness and you'll always see life's Very best possibilities. He said, 'keep on driving.' As they drove on cars began to pull over to the side of the road as the storm was getting worse. Again the young lady asked, 'Father, what should I do, stop or keep driving?' 'Keep on driving' her father replied. A few kilometres on the young lady noticed that not only more cars were pulling over, but also some big transport trucks were also pulling over to the side of the road. She told her father, 'Now I must pull over, I can barely see ahead. It is terrible and everyone is pulling over!' Her father told her again, 'Don't give up, just keep driving!' Now the storm was at its worst, but she did as her father had advised and kept driving and then the storm started to ease and she could see a little more clearly. After a couple of kilometres she had driven out of the storm and the sun came out and the road ahead was dry. Her father said, 'Now you can pull over and let's get out.' 'But why now, Father?' she asked. Her father said 'When you get out, you can look back at all the people in cars and trucks that gave up and are still in the storm and because you never gave up your storm is now over.' This is a testimony for anyone who is going through 'hard times' and their own 'personal storms.' Just because everyone else, even the strongest, gives up. You don't have to . . . What happened? We thought if we trained them in God’s Word, they would not depart from him. Isn’t that what the Bible says? Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it. (Prov. 22:6 NKJV) Be careful with this verse. Don’t interpret it to mean “If I put my kids on the right path, they’ll never leave it. If I fill them full of Scripture and Bible lessons and sermons, they may rebel, but they’ll eventually return.” The proverb makes no such promise. Salvation is a work of God. Godly parents can prepare the soil and sow the seed, but God gives the growth (1 Cor. 3:6). Moms and dads soften hearts but can’t control them. Show them the path? Yes. Force them to take it? No. At moments in my own life I stood at the crossroads of the path and even took a few steps down the wrong one. One thing always brought me back—that inner compass shown to me by my Christ- loving parents. No child ever leaves God’s sight. A child may turn his back on God or try to hide from his sight. But leave God’s view? Impossible. God has his eye on every child of his. The Holy Spirit will follow your child down every back road, every dark alley, every dead end and always remind him of the foundation of belief you showed him—the road back home. My wife shares this verse with the parents of prodigals. It is a good one for you: “The Lord says, ‘This is my agreement with these people: My Spirit and my words that I give you will never leave you or your children or your grandchildren, now and forever’” (Is. 59:21 NCV). He had not been educated in the Talmud or the Torah in some rabbinical school. He just studied the Scriptures on his own. The old fisherman had done his homework, and he was ready. He had a firm grasp on Scripture and quoted it frequently when he spoke. When you have been with Jesus, you will study the Word of God. There is no growing in the Christian life without the Bible as a regular part of your schedule. This means that every day, you need to read the Bible. Some may call that legalism. Call it what you like, but I think it is a good discipline to open up God's Word every day and let it speak to you. Jesus said, " 'Behold, I have come—in the volume of the book it is written of Me . . .' " (Hebrews 10:7). The great thing is that we can know the Author of this Book. When I read Laura Hillenbrand's book, Unbroken, I didn't know Louis Zamperini. But when I read his story, I was blown away. And when I found that he was living in Southern California, I knew I had to meet him. I wanted to ask him about things that were in the book. He has since told his story at a Harvest Crusade and at Harvest Christian Fellowship. What a privilege it has been to talk to a man who has lived history and to find out more of his story. God has given us His Book, and He will reveal things to us as He speaks to us through it. (NKJV) I am sure that by today's title, readers are thinking to themselves either "ughh" or "great". I am in the "ughh" camp when it comes to oatmeal. As we were growing up, mom tried all kinds of ways to get us to eat oatmeal. She made every kind that was available. No matter what she did, I always rejected it. I grew up with it in my mind that I did not like oatmeal, and there was no way that I was going to try it again. Rejection of oatmeal was firmly engrained in my mind. When it came time to give our sons breakfast, oatmeal was not on the menu. They were, however, given it by their grandparents, and they liked it. In my place of employment, we use oatmeal, and I have made it many times. With the lifestyle changes that I have made in regards to eating and living more healthily, I am finding that my mindset is also changing, even to the extent that, to my surprise, as I was preparing oatmeal at work, I remarked on how good it smelled. The staff person with whom I was working said that she loved oatmeal. I told her that I didn't. I had no sooner said this than I began to think, Maybe I should try it now. Well, I did, and much to my surprise, I like it, and now, I am having it regularly for breakfast. What I once rejected, I have now accepted into my life. I also once rejected Jesus from my life, but then an event happened that changed this to acceptance. All of us know someone who is currently rejecting Him, and we wonder how we can bring such people into a relationship with Him. Just as with the oatmeal that I rejected, Jesus is still there, and our friends have exposure to Him in many different ways that can lead to a change in attitude towards Him. We need to share our faith with people, pray for them, and be open about who He is in our lives and what He has done for us. Even though we may not see a change, we need to rest assured that Jesus is working in their lives through us. So, as with me and my oatmeal, let us all look for ways to share Jesus more in our daily walk. Romans 12:8 - If your gift is to encourage others, do it! If you have money, share it generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly. (NLT) Prayer: Dear Lord, we are so grateful that You work in and through us. Help us to renew daily our walk in You, through our prayer time. Show us opportunities to share Your love in our words and deeds each day. In Jesu Christ's name, we pray. Amen. For example, the word "funk" when attached to the end of "70's" is good. However, "funk" when attached to the end of the word "economic" is bad. The world has been stuck in an economic funk for over a year now and it can seem like it will never end. The reality is that there is always something to be fearful about. Just this decade, we've had 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, a devastating tsunami, and a credit crisis which we are currently mired in. Okay, I better stop before I get depressed. Actually, our resilience to these events gives me hope that we will have the fortitude to make it through this current predicament. After 9/11, we learned lessons about how vulnerable we are, about how porous our security was, and about how hatred can lead to unnecessary death. We also learned beautiful lessons about how to reach out and gather in community to support each other, how moved we can be by the stories of people we have never met, and about how brave and selfless some people are. It is during tough times that true character shines. When you're between a rock and a hard place something is going to get squeezed out of you. Difficulties don't so much make the person as much as they reveal the person. During these tough economic times, our financial resources may dictate that we eat out less, go to fewer movies, buy fewer clothes, or keep the car another year or two. However, even as we do all these things, we can still be generous. When money gets tight, I find the first thing to go in someone's budget is often their giving. I believe this is a mistake. I'm reminded of Proverbs 3:9,"Honor the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything your land produces." In the Old Testament, farmers were commanded to give from the first fruits of their crops. This is important because as a farmer, you are never sure how the whole season's crop is going to come in. When you give from the first crop not knowing what the rest of the season's crop will bring, you are really taking a leap of faith and increasing your dependence on God. Most of us are familiar with Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope." Let's put this verse in its proper context. Israel was overtaken 100 years before by Assyria, and now Babylon is banging on the door. In verse 10, God says "The truth is that you will be in Babylon for seventy years. But then I will come and do for you all the good things I have promised, and I will bring you home again." God knows the plans He has for us in spite of all these things that are going on around us. His generosity makes me want to be generous. When I'm generous it causes me to rely on God more than I normally would, which is actually a good thing. ) ) __ ( __ (~( __ (~( \O\ )~) )O) )_) (O( (_(__ ( )_) ) )~)__ __ /O/ )~) ) (~( (_( (O( __ \O\ ) )_)(~( \_\ __ )O) ( __________ _ (~( __(_( __ _-' `-_ ,-----' | _ \O\<'~_`) ) )~) / *SNORT!* \ | // : | -' )_))^ \\ __(O( ___| It's Not always! | | // : | --- >__;` (~( )_) `-. just about the! | | // : | -._ /\_\ \O\ \ MONEY!!!! / `-----._| __ /__( \| )_) `--___________--' _/___\_ //)_`/( (| ||] _____[_______]_[~~-_ (.L)O) || [____________________]' (_(,/(~( ||| / )~) ,___,'./\O\ ||| \ (O(|,'______|( )_) ||| / )_) I==|| __ ||| \ __/_|| __||__)~) -----||-/------`-._/||-o-_o__(O(-- __ ~~~~~' ____ __ /_O_/.\_\ \~\ \_O_\ /~/__/_/O`.o. \O\ ____ /O/_\_O/_/ `.' . \_\ /_O_/ /_/\_O_\ \O\ ,o,' \_\ `.' Ool It's important to remember that while financial generosity is important, it's not our only resource to giving generously. We can be generous with: 1. Our compassion. When we know a friend or neighbor is hurting, we can offer supporting ears to listen, help with chores, or send a comforting note. 2. Our hospitality. Almost daily, we learn of those who need food and shelter that we could easily provide. Have others over for dinner. It's a blessing to them and you will enjoy spending time with others. 3. Our stuff. Now is a great time to go through your stuff to see what can be shared with others. 4. Our faith. This current crisis may represent the greatest opportunity we have ever had to share our faith with others. Many people are realizing that their playbook isn't working. They're thinking maybe it's a good time to try something different. When you find your security in money, it will disappoint you. More people are realizing that now than ever before. I am reminded of the Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea in Palestine. The Sea of Galilee is fresh and fruitful. However the Dead Sea cannot sustain life. It is bitter and barren. Why the difference? They are alike in almost every way but one. The Sea of Galilee both gives and takes. The Dead Sea, on the other hand, has no outlet, so it only takes in. We have a choice, we can either be like the Sea of Galilee, which has a continual flow of give and take, and can support other lives. Or, we can be like the Dead Sea and continue to harbor what we have, but never sustain others. We may say all the right things and have the God-language down. We may sound very compassionate and very holy. But our true self is displayed not by our words or even our intentions. Our true self is displayed by our actions. Wouldn't it be great if the downturn of 2008 would result in hundreds of thousands, even millions of people coming to know Christ? We can be a part of this, if we chose to live generously; even in these tough economic times. Published April 17, 2009. It seems like only yesterday it was Christmastime and now we are already headed for June. I think this may be a good sign, though. They say that time flies when you are having fun. I am sure then that time flies even faster when you are choosing love and sharing joy. I am becoming aware, however, at just how short even the longest life here on Earth is. I see children swinging at my son's school and I can remember when I attended that same school and swung on those same swings. I give my son and daughter a hug and notice that they are almost as tall as me now. I can remember, though, when I could hold them in the crook of one arm while I rocked them to sleep. I mow the lawn near the graveyard by my home and remember all of my loved ones who have passed. Then I realize that my body too will one day be resting under a headstone and that my time on this wonderful world will be over as well. I am doing my best then not to miss a moment of this glorious life I have been given and I urge you not to miss a moment of yours either. Enjoy every day that God in His love has given you on this world. Take the time to pet your dogs before you put on their leashes for a walk. Take a second to smell that baby's hair when you hold her in your arms. Take a moment to sneak a kiss when you bump into your dear one in the kitchen. Take a little while to watch the sun go down and the moon rise up. Take a hour to walk among the trees and flowers and feel God's gentle, loving breezes on your face. Take a minute to call your Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt, or Uncle and tell them that you love them. Take the time to write an inspiring letter or say an encouraging word to a friend. Take all of the precious days of your life and use them to bring more joy, love, and oneness with God to this world. Life is short. Don't miss a moment of it. -<>- , , /////| ///// | ///// | |~~~| | | |===| |/| | B |/| | | I | | | | B | | | | L | / | E | / |===|/ jgs '---' >HOPE, CHARITY, LOVE, FAITH, and GRACE. Bill Walker wildbill6807@yahoo.com All small words, each is related or goes hand in hand with the others. Makes very little difference in anything in life we do. If you stop and think about any part of your life. These five words play a great part in the end. It makes no difference what you have, or how little you have. You deal with these five words every day. >From the day you bounced into this world, till the day you drop out. I started out thinking I would use these five words about the Bible. We could you know. May wind up on that note. We also can use them for every day life. So I will do a little of both. That is the Bible and every day life. HOPE: Anything you do, you have a hope it will work. There must be a reason for you doing something. You have hopes the day will be a good one. I hear that so much any more. "Have a good day." Do you need a bad day? You hope today will be a good day From the day one of your life to the very last day, there is that hope. As long as you breath, there is hope. When you stop, there is none. The doctor can C.P.R. you forever. As long as your not breathing, there is little if any hope. CHARITY: The world also runs on that. Even the very rich depends on charity. You see if you stop and think about it. If the poorer crowd got together, they could take the very rich and powerful down a peg or two. History is full of that. Remember the French up starts taking down the King and Queen. I do. I remember the poor starving for a loaf of bread. The Queen said. "They have no bread, that is a shame, let them eat cake." How about later times? The people of Russia was in the same fix in and before World War One. I know maybe this is far out. It still is something to do with charity. We live by charity of others. You can be mean to others, no charity there. You can be kind, it is a form of charity. The Queen could have said, "They need bread King, open the store house." That would have been charity. The mob could have said, let the King and Queen live, don't lop of their head. That too would have been charity. LOVE: I have been told by more then one of the Dollies, there is different kinds of love. I thought there was one. Guess I'm wrong. Dollies love to get a gift. Your an angel. Some will be happy with a GrandMa Fruit Cake. Others tell you no more of those things. I guess one loved fruit cake, the other sees no love at all. I know some say they love the car, the house, the ring they had planted on little pinkie. I even remember one falling in love with a silly looking frock one evening. Just had to have it. I guess there is different kinds of love. I was thinking yesterday about Tinker, my little dog. I remember his love. I could turn the A/C on. He would walk to an air vent. Pile down, I got a look and to me it seem like he had a grin and the look of love in his eyes. I wonder was it me he loved for turning on the air, or was it the cool air. I think I know. I have seen many acts of love. One is when you help someone in need of help. Yes I call that some kind of love. Love for your brother or sister in this walk of life. You made their day better, and you felt good about it. You married the one you call husband or wife. There must have been a bit of love at that time. I hoped it grew into a never ending love for one another. This other kind of thing called same sex, I don't think much of that. I happen to be a boy, looking for a walking talking Dollie. Of course I hear some Dollies never shut off the talking, about all you get to say after they get the ring, is . "Yes Dear, No Dear." And God help you if you get messed up, and say the wrong yes or no at times. And for goodness sake never say the wrong name. I know all about that bone head deal, first hand. So much for love. FAITH You put you trust in something or someone. That is faith. I have trust, faith that I can do something. You have the same. You have faith and trust your team will win. That is till the score is 62 to 24. Your team is the one on low end, and have 30 seconds to play in the game. You see your coach standing on the sidelines ripping his cap off and throwing it on the ground, saying words of no print here, and crying Gator tears. I just had to get that in. Sorry Gator. We deal in trust and faith every day. We trust, and have faith in the doctor, else we find one that we do. We have trust and faith in the old clunker. it will start and get us down the road. When it bulks, we shop for repairs, or get a new clunker. We get kind of like the old cat. Darn it all. The good times is over, we walk away looking for a better deal. We lost trust and faith in that old bucket of bolts. We have faith something is going to happen, to make our day a good day. GRACE: Last, sure not the least. Maybe the most important one word of the lot. I often wonder, about this word. What is grace? Are you graced because you have fine clothes, food, car, boat, plane, train, motor home, a wife, a couple girl friends on the side. I put train in as a laugh. That could be next thing one must have. Are you living in grace because you have little? I know and have heard of many who have little and they are happy. They have a happy home, may be a poor home, They enjoy things they do have. They live a simple life. Maybe they never get to the other side of the mountain. But their happy with the side their on. Maybe it is by grace they have what they have.. They have something called happy times. While the other fellow has to worry about wife finding out about the two girl friends. Maybe she has a small problem too. She tramping also.. They have no happy times other then what looks great to others. So maybe it is the ones on the lower end of things that has the most blessings and grace. Maybe in the end they keep their heads. Someday they too will eat at the big table, with the master. I remember reading about a man who asked for a lot. He asked, never got what he asked for. His last lines was he was most richly blessed. I think that is called GRACE. I have read about a man who also had very little while here on earth. He was/is the most important man to ever walk on this earth. God's HOPE, CHARITY, LOVE, FAITH, and GRACE sent him to do a job. You see I believe God has hope yet for you and I. He also has much in the way of charity for you and I. He still has love for you and I. He has faith that you and I will do as he has asked us to do. Grace, again last, sure not least. It all boils down to by his grace. We have what we need. It takes all of those words. HOPE, CHARITY, LOVE, FAITH, and GRACE in this life. -<>- ___ .dSSSS$$pp.. .dSSSS$$$$$$$$; .dSSSS$$$$$$$$$$$ :SSP^" T$$$$$$$$$$b_ dSSP $$$S$$$$$$$b` dSS$;_. .:$$$SS$$$$$$b dSS$$$_ ; __."^TSS$$$$$b dSS$$P;" ""' :lSS$$$$$b :SS$$$ ; ::SS$$$$$$b_. The girl I used to be.... And she gazed at me with her earnest eye And questioned reproachfully: Have you forgotten the many plans And hopes I had for you? The great career, the splendid fame, all the wonderful things to do? Where is the mansion of stately height With all its gardens rare? The silken robes that I dreamed for you And the jewels in your hair? And as she spoke, I was very sad For I wanted her pleased with me... This slender girl from the shadowy past The girl that I used to be. So gently rising, I took her hand And guided her up the stairs Where peacefully sleeping, my babies lay Innocent, sweet, and fair. And I told her that these are my only gems, And precious they are to me; That silken robes is my motherhood Of costly simplicity. And my mansion of stately height is love, And the only career I know Is serving each day in these sheltered walls For the dear ones who come and go And as I spoke to my shadowy guest, She smiled through her tears at me. And I saw the woman that I am now Pleased the girl I used to be. ---Author unknown -<>- >Links for Your Enjoyment Our Valuable Anchor! http://www.ShangralaFamilyFun.com/BibleStudy/ouranchor.html A KAIROS Moment http://www.ShangralaFamilyFun.com/BibleStudy/kairosmoment.html Are Angels Real? http://www.ShangralaFamilyFun.com/BibleStudy/angelsreal.htm Crossed The Line http://www.ShangralaFamilyFun.com/BibleStudy/crossedtheline.html Gay Agenda http://www.ShangralaFamilyFun.com/BibleStudy/gayagenda.html Straying From The Light! http://www.ShangralaFamilyFun.com/BibleStudy/straying.html Walking In Power! http://www.ShangralaFamilyFun.com/BibleStudy/walkingpower.html Dog Warriors! http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/dogwarriors.html Journey Through Life! http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/journey.html Thinking Positive! http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/positive.html Akiane Child Prodigy http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/prodigy.html Until We Write Again! http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/write.html Why God Gave Us Puppies! http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/whypuppies.html -<>- >From Our Friend EdLaF :) What a wonderful world - LOUIS ARMSTRONG. - YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2VCwBzGdPM Jimmy Durante..Young at Heart - YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCsJzFK7_as Jimmy Durante - Make Someone Happy (Original Stereo) - YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBLmMZfUx5s THE MOODY BLUES -- A Question Of Balance -- 1970 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dw8WXxFXlWw&feature=relmfu --- ...An old Moody Blue Fav for sure! He had health problems immediately, and had to be Life-Flighted from the Army hospital at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, to Children's Hospital at the University of Oklahoma in Oklahoma City. This was an hour and a half trip by car. But my wife and I didn't have a car. Our previous car had blown up, so I rode with a guy in my unit to work every day. I had been talking with another member of my unit, to buy a car he hadn't driven for two years. But he wanted all the money up front, as he'd been burned by other people before, and lost money. That evening I called him up, and explained our situation. He immediately agreed to take payments I could afford -- $150 a month. He was still paying $250 a month for the car, with nine payments left. He said to make the balance up with my tax refund. I asked him if he would make money on it, and he said no, and it didn't matter. The next morning I packed up a week's clothes for my wife, our two children, and myself. I picked my wife up at the hospital, and headed up the highway for Oklahoma City. About 20 minutes outside of Oklahoma City, we had a flat tire. I was stuck on the side of the highway, no spare, no jack, in almost 90-degree weather, with my wife and two children. About 30 cars passed, no one stopped, even with the hood raised to signal car trouble. Finally, a dump truck (of all things) pulled over. He took me a mile up the road to Newcastle. It was another mile to the tire shop. Once there, I explained my predicament of neither jack nor spare, and they handed me a jack to borrow. Newcastle is a small town, with no taxi service, so I asked where the police station was. I walked a few blocks to the police station, and explained the situation to the officer there, who was very rude. He said they weren't a taxi service. I resigned myself to walking the two miles back to the car, and started on my way. I got about a half mile down the road when a police cruiser with two officers stopped me. It was the officer who was so rude to me and his police chief, who had learned about the situation through the dispatcher. They drove me to the car and waited while I took the flat off. Then they took me to the tire shop for the repair, and finally back to the car to install the repaired tire. I then returned the jack to the tire shop. My son spent three weeks in the hospital, and is now a healthy 5-year-old. I wish I could go back and thank all those who helped us to be by his side when he was so ill. =======HeroicStories======= >-->From Kidwarmers: __ .---. __ / ` .-.7,--. / `. .-''. -, , \ '--.- -; | ) / ,` / \ ,_) / '-. / ( ( | / .' ) \ '. `--,/ .---' ,-.| `--. / '-, -' .' .==,=; `-,.;--' / ,' _;--;| /_...=' || jgs || .==,=. ||/ '.\ ,||`'=...__\ || || ||, || || || THE FUNNY THINGS KIDS SAY Tatum's Grandma Brenda and Grandpa Rube, have a vegetable garden with tomatoes, squash and peppers.
