Two Stories To Commemorate Pearl Harbor Day on the 7th: >What God did at Pearl Harbor What God did at Pearl Harbor that day is interesting and I never knew this little bit of history: Tour boats ferry people out to the USS Arizona Memorial in Hawaii every thirty minutes. We just missed a ferry and had to wait thirty minutes. I went into a small gift shop to kill time. In the gift shop, I purchased a small book entitled, "Reflections on Pearl Harbor" by Admiral Chester Nimitz. Sunday, December 7th, 1941--Admiral Chester Nimitz was attending a concert in Washington , DC . He was paged and told there was a phone call for him. When he answered the phone, it was President Franklin Delano Roosevelt on the phone. He told Admiral Nimitz that he (Nimitz) would now be the Commander of the Pacific Fleet. Admiral Nimitz flew to Hawaii to assume command of the Pacific Fleet. He landed at Pearl Harbor on Christmas Eve, 1941. There was such a spirit of despair, dejection and defeat--you would have thought the Japanese had already won the war. On Christmas Day, 1941, Adm. Nimitz was given a boat tour of the destruction wrought on Pearl Harbor by the Japanese. Big sunken battleships and navy vessels cluttered the waters everywhere you looked. As the tour boat returned to dock, the young helmsman of the boat asked, "Well Admiral, what do you think after seeing all this destruction?" Admiral Nimitz's reply shocked everyone within the sound of his voice. Admiral Nimitz said, "The Japanese made three of the biggest mistakes an attack force could ever make, or God was taking care of America. Which do you think it was?" Shocked and surprised, the young helmsman asked, "What do mean by saying the Japanese made the three biggest mistakes an attack force ever made?" Nimitz explained: Mistake number one: The Japanese attacked on Sunday morning. Nine out of every ten crewmen of those ships were ashore on leave. If those same ships had been lured to sea and been sunk--we would have lost 38,000 men instead of 3,800. Mistake number two: When the Japanese saw all those battleships lined in a row, they got so carried away sinking those battleships, they never once bombed our dry docks opposite those ships. If they had destroyed our dry docks, we would have had to tow every one of those ships to America to be repaired. As it is now, the ships are in shallow water and can be raised. One tug can pull them over to the dry docks, and we can have them repaired and at sea by the time we could have towed them to America. And I already have crews ashore anxious to man those ships. Mistake number three: Every drop of fuel in the Pacific theater of war is in top of the ground storage tanks five miles away over that hill. One attack plane could have strafed those tanks and destroyed our fuel supply. That's why I say the Japanese made three of the biggest mistakes an attack force could make or God was taking care of America. I've never forgotten what I read in that little book. It is still an inspiration as I reflect upon it. In jest, I might suggest that because Admiral Nimitz was a Texan, born and raised in Fredericksburg, Texas -- he was a born optimist. But any way you look at it--Admiral Nimitz was able to see a silver lining in a situation and circumstance where everyone else saw only despair and defeatism. President Roosevelt had chosen the right man for the right job. We desperately needed a leader that could see silver linings in the midst of the clouds of dejection, despair and defeat. There is a reason that our national motto is, IN GOD WE TRUST. Why have we forgotten? PRAY FOR OUR COUNTRY! In God we trust! Please pass this important message to others. Americans need to stand behind one another! --- ...A Wonderful message! Thanks Geniann! -<>- ,-. _,. / / ; \____,-==-._ ) //_ `----' {+> ` `'--/ /-'`( / / dew `=' >P-51 Mystery This is a great story. Very much worth the read. Especially the ending. This 1967 true story is of an experience by a young 12 year old boy in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. It is about the vivid memory of a privately rebuilt P-51 from WWII and its famous owner/pilot. In the morning sun, I could not believe my eyes. There, in our little airport, sat a majestic P-51. They said it had flown in during the night from some U.S. Airport, on its way to an air show. The pilot had been tired, so he just happened to choose Kingston for his stop over. It was to take to the air very soon. I marveled at the size of the plane, dwarfing the Pipers and Canucks tied down by her. It was much larger than in the movies. She glistened in the sun like a bulwark of security from days gone by. The pilot arrived by cab, paid the driver, and then stepped into the pilot's lounge. He was an older man; his wavy hair was gray and tossed. It looked like it might have been combed, say, around the turn of the century. His flight jacket was checked, creased and worn - it smelled old and genuine. Old Glory was prominently sewn to its shoulders. He projected a quiet air of proficiency and pride devoid of arrogance. He filed a quick flight plan to Montreal ("Expo-67 Air Show") then walked across the tarmac. After taking several minutes to perform his walk-around check, the tall, lanky man returned to the flight lounge to ask if anyone would be available to stand by with fire extinguishers while he "flashed the old bird up, just to be safe." Though only 12 at the time I was allowed to stand by with an extinguisher after brief instruction on its use -- "If you see a fire, point, then pull this lever!", he said. (I later became a firefighter, but that's another story.) The air around the exhaust manifolds shimmered like a mirror from fuel fumes as the huge prop started to rotate. One manifold, then another, and yet another barked -- I stepped back with the others In moments the Packard -built Merlin engine came to life with a thunderous roar. Blue flames knifed from her manifolds with an arrogant snarl. I looked at the others' faces; there was no concern. I lowered the bell of my extinguisher. One of the guys signaled to walk back to the lounge. We did. Several minutes later we could hear the pilot doing his pre-flight run-up. He'd taxied to the end of runway 19, out of sight. All went quiet for several seconds. We ran to the second story deck to see if we could catch a glimpse of the P-51 as she started down the runway We could not. There we stood, eyes fixed to a spot half way down 19. Then a roar ripped across the field, much louder than before. Like a furious hell spawn set loose -- something mighty this way was coming. "Listen to that thing!" said the controller. In seconds the Mustang burst into our line of sight. It's tail was already off the runway and it was moving faster than anything I'd ever seen by that point on 19. Two-thirds the way down 19 the Mustang was airborne with her gear going up. The prop tips were supersonic. We clasped our ears as the Mustang climbed hellishly fast into the circuit to be eaten up by the dog-day haze. We stood for a few moments, in stunned silence, trying to digest what we'd just seen. The radio controller rushed by me to the radio. "Kingston tower calling Mustang?" He looked back to us as he waited for an acknowledgment. The radio crackled, "Go ahead, Kingston." "Roger, Mustang. Kingston tower would like to advise the circuit is clear for a low level pass." I stood in shock because the controller had just, more or less, asked the pilot to return for an impromptu air show! The controller looked at us. "Well, What?" He asked. "I can't let that guy go without asking. I couldn't forgive myself!" The radio crackled once again, "Kingston, do I have permission for a low level pass, east to west, across the field?" "Roger, Mustang, the circuit is clear for an east to west pass." "Roger, Kingston, I'm coming out of 3,000 feet, stand by. We rushed back onto the second-story deck, eyes fixed toward the eastern haze. The sound was subtle at first, a high-pitched whine, a muffled screech, a distant scream. Moments later the P-51 burst through the haze. Her airframe straining against positive G's and gravity. Her wing tips spilling contrails of condensed air, prop-tips again supersonic. The burnished bird blasted across the eastern margin of the field shredding and tearing the air. At about 500 mph and 150 yards from where we stood she passed with the old American pilot saluting. Imagine. A salute! I felt like laughing; I felt like crying; she glistened; she screamed; the building shook; my heart pounded. Then the old pilot pulled her up and rolled, and rolled, and rolled out of sight into the broken clouds and indelible into my memory. I've never wanted to be an American more than on that day! It was a time when many nations in the world looked to America as their big brother. A steady and even-handed beacon of security who navigated difficult political water with grace and style; not unlike the old American pilot who'd just flown into my memory. He was proud, not arrogant, humble, not a braggart, old and honest, projecting an aura of America at its best. That America will return one day! I know it will! Until that time, I'll just send off this story. Call it a loving reciprocal salute to a Country, and especially to that old American pilot: the late-JIMMY STEWART (1908-1997), Actor, real WWII Hero (Commander of a US Army Air Force Bomber Wing stationed in England), and a USAF Reserves Brigadier General, who wove a wonderfully fantastic memory for a young Canadian boy that's lasted a lifetime. --- ...An Awesome Story! In 2009, he was presented with France's Legion of Honor award. Here's his story... WWII P-51 Mustang Pilot http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/wwiipilot.html After Japan's sneak attack on Pearl Harbor, with the United States reeling and wounded, something dramatic was needed to turn the war effort around. Even though there were no friendly airfields close enough to Japan for the United States to launch a retaliation, a daring plan was devised. Sixteen B-25s were modified so that they could take off from the deck of an aircraft carrier. This had never before been tried -- sending such big, heavy bombers from a carrier. Here's that story: The Final Toast http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/finaltoast.html Here's a story of a man that kept moral up during WWII - Bill Mauldin. He's a WWII hero to many of the them back then. Willie, Joe And Bill In WWII! http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/mauldin.html Just think, if not for these and many other patriots who risked their lives for our freedom today, we might be ruled by Nazi Germany and controlled through a dictatorship of a totalitarian state that controlled nearly all aspects of life via the Gleichschaltung legal process. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gleichschaltung Freedom is not free! Never has it been. Someone paid the price for it. Today's youth and left who want to remove history because they find something of it offensive, ought to understand that every historical thing that happened was just a step taken in time to achieve where we are now. If there weren't all these lessons of life being taken and our ancestors learning and developing and achieving from them, then who knows, perhaps the door of time might not have been open for any one of us to have even existed. God is our planner and designer and all things work out for good for us because of Him. We see the bad things the devil has done through history and right along with the evil comes the good God makes out of it for our sake. That is why we keep in mind the evil of slavery for instance. We see the statues and remember the time when people suffered from this horrible act of human cruelty. We then remember what price those that were a part of this evil had to pay. Our Civil War pit family members against each other, people loss their homes, their livelihood, their loved ones and even their own lives. The human suffering was tremendous! "The limbs of soldiers are in as much danger from the ardor of young surgeons as from the missiles of the enemy." Although the exact number is not known, approximately 60,000 surgeries, about three quarters of all of the operations performed during the war, were amputations. 620,000 people died. Justice had to be paid for all the evil that was committed. God heard the cries of those in slavery and just like in the time of Exodus when God told Moses to tell Pharaoh to 'let my people go' and all hell broke out against Pharaoh and his people when they refused, the people going against God had to pay the price. God made good come out of all that evil by giving us true love for each other regardless of our race. Historically, the assimilation of immigrants to the United States, the term 'melting pot' came into general usage in the United States after it was used as a metaphor describing a fusion of nationalities, cultures and ethnicities in the 1908 play of the same name. We live and prosper in a country of much racial diversity today only because of our American history and what we learned from it. Thank God! Our statues and historical landmarks are reminders of this. To remove them would be like saying it never happened and their reminders might not be in our face. They often say, history repeats itself. If we have history in front of us, perhaps we will not repeat the bad actions of our ancestors and be duly reminded to steer clear of it in our future. It wasn't even an inch and yet it turned the mountains here into a beautiful, crystal white paradise. It was so enjoyable to be outside feeling the cold, brisk air blowing the flakes around. It was so delightful seeing our Saint Bernard, Buddy, literally jumping for joy in the snow as my daughter walked him. It was so heart warming thinking of the Christmas season to come with all of its gifts of peace, goodwill, kindness, laughter, joy, and love. It made me wish that everyday could be Christmas Day. It was then, however, that I remembered that each day can be like Christmas Day if we make it so. God's love for us isn't just limited to one day a year, after all. God's love for us is with us everyday. It never wavers. It never fades. His love for us is joyous and eternal and the life He promises us is joyous and eternal. Why should our love be any different? Why should our greatest gifts of goodness, kindness, and joy just be limited to one day a year? Charles Dickens in A CHRISTMAS CAROL calls Christmas, "A good time, a kind, forgiving, charitable, pleasant time: the only time I know of, in the long calendar of the year, when men and women seem by one consent to open their shut-up hearts freely." I think one day as everyone in this world learns to better choose and share love and joy that these feelings will not only be limited to one time of the year. One day as everyone in this world learns to grow in oneness with God the Christmas Spirit will begin to last all through the year. One day as everyone in this world learns to live as we were meant to everyday will become Christmas Day. May all of you have a Merry Christmas then. May your hearts be full of love and good cheer. May your souls sing with joy and oneness with God. And may you always with every choice you make do your best to make everyday like Christmas Day. -<>- , ,_ |`\ `;;, ,;;' | `\ \ '. .'.' | `\ \ '-""""-' / `. `\ / |` `> /; _ _ \ / / | . ; < (`";\ () ~~~ (/_ ';;\ `, __ _.-'` ) >;\ ` _.' `;;\ \-' ;/ \ _ | ,"". .` \ | _| ' / ; /") .;-, jgs \ / __ .-' \,_/-"` `-' >About Love A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year olds, "What does love mean?" The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined. See what you think: "When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love." Rebecca - age 8 "When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You know that your name is safe in their mouth." Billy - age 4 "Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other." Karl - age 5 "Love is what makes you smile when you're tired." Terri - age 4 "Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK." Danny - age 7 "Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more. My Mommy and Daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss" Emily - age 8 "Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen," Bobby - age 7 (Wow!) "If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate," Nikka - age 6 "There are two kinds of love. Our love. God's love. But God makes both kinds of them." Jenny - age 8 "Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it every day." Noelle - age 7 "Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well." Tommy - age 6 "During my piano recital, I was on a stage and I was scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling. He was the only one doing that. I wasn't scared anymore." Cindy - age 8 "My mommy loves me more than anybody. You don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night." Clare - age 6 "Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken." Elaine-age 5 "Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford." Chris - age 7 "Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day." Mary Ann - age 4 "I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones." Lauren - age 4 "When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you." Karen - age 7 "Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn't think it's gross." Mark - age 6 "You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget." Jessica - age 8 And the final one -- Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once talked about a contest he was asked to judge. The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring child. The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife. Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there. When his Mother asked him what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said, "Nothing, I just helped him cry." -<>- _. ,-.,-"`""-./ \ / \ `-.| .:::.:::. \ / `-._ ::::::::: | "=\ ':::::' | .==" |o_|_ ':' | _o. ` (_) ,;;;,;;;, ; \\ ;;;;;;;;; \ _. /|-. Mazzella I heard the sweetest sound today. It was sweeter than birds singing, wind chimes tinkling, or music playing. It was so beautiful that it instantly made my face smile, my heart sing, and my spirit soar to Heaven. It was my littlest child saying, "I love you." You know there is nothing like a few good words to make your day and remake your life. Words are such a glorious gift from God. They have the power to spread love, share joy, and create happiness. They have the ability to lift a beaten and battered heart up to the sky. They have the strength to help a despairing soul in its hour of greatest need. It is a shame then that we don't use more good words in our lives. There is nothing like a few kind words to bring a little goodness and delight into another's life. Mark Twain used to say that he could go for days on a good compliment. It feels so good too when we use our words to build others up rather than tearing them down. It feels so wonderful to share a few honest words of praise. If feels so fantastic to let another person know that they are loved, admired, and cared for. If you truly want to change your life for the better then make two lists of words. On the first put all the negative words you hear all the time like: hate, hurt, no, can't, pain, destroy, and those I won't even mention here. On the second list put every positive word you can think of like: joy, love, light, delight, peace, happiness, goodness, kindness, fantastic, wonderful, good, great, glorious, and don't forget yes. Then throw away the first list and always use the second. You will be amazed at the miracle that will take place. You will be in awe of the joy, love, peace, and happiness that will flow into your life. You will be filled with wonder at how God, yourself, and a few good words brought Heaven to Earth. -<>- >Links for Your Enjoyment: Moses And The Red Sea http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/mosesredsea.html Life's Choices http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/lifeschoices.html One Word Essay 2 http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/essay2.html Wood Carving Art 2 http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/woodart3.html Come Smile With Me http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/smilewithme.html Dogs VS Elf http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/dogsvself.html Rare Exotic Cats http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/rarecats.html Amazing Photos 6 http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/amazingphotos6.html Best Pillows 2 http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/pillows2.html World's Fastest Plane http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/fastestplane.html When God Paints http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/gpaints.html Montreal Aura Basilica http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/montrealaura.html The 23rd Psalm http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/psalm23.html Our Valuable Anchor http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/BibleStudy/ouranchor.html Veteran And Troop Pages http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/911andtroopsindex.html Christmas Index http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/christmasindex.html -<>- Some of Shangrala's Best Pages http://www.amazafamily.com/index.html -<>- What does the Bible say about Christmas? https://tinyurl.com/y85bfxh3 Pieces Of My Heart Site https://www.piecesofmyheart.org/ Real Love - Hillsong Young & Free https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0kmvXlDBYI Right Now http://www.greatday.com/rightnowpage/rightnow.pdf Even Now http://www.greatday.com/rightnowpage/EvenNow.pdf This Is Living Now https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tsJEmLkphrI The Daily Motivator http://www.greatday.com/ Love Won't Let Me Down (Music Video) - Hillsong Young & Free https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BxQjmKoiTVQ Sean Hannity 12/4/18 [FULL] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOhtORRdbqM The Ingraham Angle 12/5/18| https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvXw44XZiwc WhiteHouseNews: https://www.whitehouse.gov/1600daily/ Latest Fox News: https://www.foxnews.com/ Latest From AFA: http://tinyurl.com/j7lakqw Students For Life https://tinyurl.com/yd5nxmu6 Latest From OperationRescue: http://www.operationrescue.org/ Today's Best Conservative Humor! https://theusawire.com/2018/03/8092-todays-best-conservative-humor/ RECALLS: Chocolate Products https://tinyurl.com/y7h377ku -<>- >From Our Friend LouiseAu :) A wonderful look at the ocean and the creatures that inhabit it narrated by Sir David Attenborough. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2f9SItUEtJ8 --- ...Beautiful! Troubling, but necessary to read and think about. Wherever you stand, please take the time to read this… We know Dick Lamm as Governor of Colorado. In that context his thoughts are particularly poignant. Last week there was an immigration overpopulation conference in Washington D.C., filled to capacity by many of America's finest minds and leaders. A brilliant college professor [and farmer] by the name of Victor Davis Hanson talked about his latest book, Mexifornia, explaining how immigration - both legal and illegal - was destroying the entire state of California. He said it would march across the country until it destroyed all vestiges of The American Dream. Moments later, former Colorado Governor Richard D. Lamm stood up and gave a stunning speech on how to destroy America. My husband dressed up as Santa Claus and drove a rented flat bed truck. The group tied our spinet piano in the flat bed truck and Santa called "All aboard!" Bundled up, we filled the truck with excited carolers. A woman from our church played the piano as we drove and sang. It was cold and windy for southern California. We first caroled for an 11-year-old boy who was dying of AIDs. He was so weak he couldn't come outside, but "Santa" backed the truck up to the house windows and his parents held him while we sang to him. Then Santa jumped out and visited George. (George died 3 days later.) Our next stop was an older couple whose son had committed suicide a few months before. With our hearts full of love we sang to this bereaved couple, giving them homemade Christmas cookies afterwards. We caroled for several other families. Then Santa asked the group if we minded making just one more stop. We were all tired, cold and wishing to return to "Santa's" house, but begrudgingly agreed to carol again. Santa drove our cold, tired group of carolers to the home of a vital, loving and very outgoing woman who shared her love with many others. We got out of the truck, tromped across her lawn and began singing, but got no response. I told my husband it was silly to sing to a dark house with no one answering the door. We didn't even have cookies to share with her. He said he "felt" very strongly that we needed to carol there. He asked us to be patient while he went around to the back of the house. The kids were really cold standing around, not singing and getting grumpier by the minute. About 10 minutes later, "Santa" opened the front door with his arm around a sweet little old lady, and we began caroling again. When we had finished several songs, with tears running down her cheeks, the woman clung to Santa as she thanked us and Santa took her back inside. After cookies, hot chocolate and a Christmas movie, everyone went home. Then my husband shared the story of our last caroling stop. "Mary" had recently received divorce papers and was in complete shock. After trying to cope with this devastating news, Mary was in the process of ending her life at the very moment when Santa interrupted her. If not for Santa acting on his gut feeling, this woman would no longer have been in this world. Christmas is indeed a time for loving, sharing, caring and giving. One never knows what the next minute will hold. =======HeroicStories======= >-->From LaughAndLift / / _/ (_) / / | | | | | | | (_) (_) (_) (_) (_) (_) (_) (_) (_) (_) (_) (_) (_) (_) (_) _ _ (_)_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ (_))(_) (_)(_)(_)(_)(_)(_)(_)(_)(_)(_)(_)(_)(_)(_)(_)@< VK >The Treasure (by Alice Gray as printed in "More Stories for the Heart") The cheerful girl with bouncy golden curls was almost five. Waiting with her mother at the checkout stand, she saw them: a circle of glistening white pearls in a pink foil box. "Oh please, Mommy. Can I have them? Please, Mommy, please!" Quickly the mother checked the back of the little foil box and then looked back into the pleading blue eyes of her little girl's upturned face. "A dollar ninety-five. That's almost $2.00 if you really want them, I'll think of some extra chores for you and in no time you can save enough money to buy them for yourself. Your birthday's only a week away and you might get another crisp dollar bill from Grandma." As soon as Jenny got home, she emptied her penny bank and counted out 17 pennies. After dinner, she did more than her share of chores and she went to the neighbor and asked Mrs. McJames if she could pick dandelions for ten cents. On her birthday, Grandma did give her another new dollar bill and at last she had enough money to buy the necklace. Jenny loved her pearls. They made her feel dressed up and grown up. She wore them everywhere - Sunday school, kindergarten, even to bed. The only time she took them off was when she went swimming or had a bubble bath. Mother said if they got wet, they might turn her neck green. Jenny had a very loving Daddy and every night when she was ready for bed, he would stop whatever he was doing and come upstairs to read her a story. One night when he finished the story, he asked Jenny, "Do you love me?" "Oh yes, Daddy. You know that I love you." "Then give me your pearls." "Oh, Daddy, not my pearls. But you can have Princess-the white horse from my collection. The one with the pink tail. Remember, Daddy? The one you gave me. She's my favorite." "That's okay, honey. Daddy loves you. Good night." And he brushed her cheek with a kiss. About a week later, after the story time, Jenny's daddy asked again, "Do you love me?" "Daddy, you know I love you." "Then give me your pearls." "Oh, Daddy, not my pearls. But you can have my babydoll. The brand new one I got for my birthday. She is so beautiful and you can have the yellow blanket that matches her sleeper." "That's okay. Sleep well. God bless you, little one. Daddy loves you." And as always, he brushed her cheek with a gentle kiss. A few nights later when her daddy came in, Jenny was sitting on her bed with her legs crossed Indian-style. As he came close, he noticed her chin was trembling and one silent tear rolled down her cheek. "What is it, Jenny? What's the matter?" Jenny didn't say anything but lifted her little hand up to her daddy. And when she opened it, there was her little pearl necklace. With a little quiver, she finally said, "Here Daddy. It's for you." With tears gathering in his own eyes, Jenny's kind daddy reached out with one hand to take the dime-store necklace, and with the other hand he reached into his pocket and pulled out a blue velvet case with a strand of genuine pearls and gave them to Jenny. He had them all the time. He was just waiting for her to give up the dime-store stuff so he could give her genuine treasure. So like our Heavenly Father. What are you hanging on to?
