No race or gender or person is of any greater value to God. He is not a respector of persons. He loves people and does all that He can to support and help people. It is people who go against Him that makes Him not be able to help them. When you think one person isn't as important to God as another then think again. God gave His Only begotten Son and Jesus Gave his own life not for just some but for ANY man, woman, or child who would believe on Him. Neither will I. I was on the 110th floor in a smoke filled room with a man who called his wife to say 'Good-Bye.' I held his fingers steady as he dialed. I gave him the peace to say, 'Honey, I am not going to make it, but it is OK..I am ready to go.' I was with his wife when he called as she fed breakfast to their children. I held her up as she tried to understand his words and as she realized he wasn't coming home that night. I was in the stairwell of the 23rd floor when a woman cried out to Me for help. 'I have been knocking on the door of your heart for 50 years!' I said. 'Of course I will show you the way home - only believe in Me now.' I was at the base of the building with the Priest ministering to the injured and devastated souls. I took him home to tend to his Flock in Heaven. He heard my voice and answered. I was on all four of those planes, in every seat, with every prayer. I was with the crew as they were overtaken. I was in the very hearts of the believers there, comforting and assuring them that their faith has saved them. I was in Texas , Virginia , California , Michigan , Afghanistan ... I was standing next to you when you heard the terrible news. Did you sense Me? I want you to know that I saw every face. I knew every name - though not all know Me. Some met Me for the first time on the 86th floor. Some sought Me with their last breath. Some couldn't hear Me calling to them through the smoke and flames; 'Come to Me... this way... take my hand.' Some chose, for the final time, to ignore Me. But, I was there. I did not place you in the Tower that day. You may not know why, but I do. However, if you were there in that explosive moment in time, would you have reached for Me? Sept. 11, 2001, was not the end of the journey for you. But someday your journey will end. And I will be there for you as well. Seek Me now while I may be found. Then, at any moment, you know you are 'ready to go.' I will be in the stairwell of your final moments. -God During the next 60 seconds, stop whatever you are doing, and take this opportunity. (Literally it is only 1 minute.) All you have to do is the following: Stop and think and appreciate God's power in your life, for doing what you know is pleasing to Him. If you are not ashamed to do this, follow the instructions. Jesus said, 'If you are ashamed of Me, I will be ashamed of you before My Father' If you are not ashamed, copy and send this message...only if you believe 'Yes, I love my God. He is my fountain of Life an d My Savior. He Keeps me going day an d night. Without Him, I am no one. But with Him, I can do everything. Christ is my strength.' Is this some sick twisted game? A loud explosion from upstairs, People panic and start to yell, A man in a wheel chair starts to cry, All I could think of was I was going to die. Step after Step we ran from our fears, I thought I would drown from the flow of our tears. People started panicking and going insane, I knew exactly what they were feeling for I felt their pain, Nobody knew what happened, All we knew was we didn't have long. To get out of the building before it was collapsed and gone. This is why I always say I love YOU.... This has not been broken since 9/11/01, please keep it going.. This has been kept alive and moving since 9/11. In memory of all those who perished this morning; the passengers and the pilots on the United Air and AA flights, the workers in the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, and all the innocent bystanders Our prayers go out to the friends and families of the deceased. IF I KNEW If I knew it would be the last time That I'd see you fall asleep, I would tuck you in more tightly and pray the Lord, your soul to keep. If I knew it would be the last time that I see you walk out the door, I would give you a hug and kiss and call you back for one more If I knew it would be the last time I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise, I would video tape each action and word, so I could play them back day after day. If I knew it would be the last time,! I could spare an extra minute to stop and say "I love you," instead of assuming you would KNOW I do. If I knew it would be the last time I would be there to share your day, Well I'm sure you'll have so many more, so I can let just this one slip away. For surely there's always tomorrow to make up for an oversight, and we always get a second chance to make everything just right. There will always be another day to say "I love you," And certainly there's another chance to say our "Anything I can do?" But just in case I might be wrong, and today is all I get, I'd like to say how much I love you and I hope we never forget. Tomorrow is not promised to anyone, young or old alike, And today may be the last chance you get to hold your loved one tight. So if you're waiting for tomorrow, why not do it today? For if tomorrow never comes, you'll surely regret the day, That you didn't take that extra time for a smile, a hug, or a kiss and you were too busy to grant someone, what turned! out to be their one last wish. So hold your loved ones close today, and whisper in their ear, Tell them how much you love them and that you'll always hold them dear Take time to say "I'm sorry," "Please forgive me," "Thank you," or "It's okay." And if tomorrow never comes, you'll have no regrets about today. Send this to at least 10 people to show your support. The little boy was so cold that he wasn't trying to sell many papers. He walked up to a policeman and said, "Mister, you wouldn't happen to know where a poor boy could find a warm place to sleep tonight would you ? You see, I sleep in a box up around the corner there and down the alley and it's awful cold in there for tonight. Sure would be nice to have a warm place to stay." The policeman looked down at the little boy and said, "You go down the street to that big white house and you knock on the door. When they come out the door you just say John 3:16, and they will let you in." So he did. He walked up the steps and knocked on the door, and a lady answered. He looked up and said, "John 3:16." The lady said, "Come on in, Son." She took him in and she sat him down in a split bottom rocker in front of a great big old fireplace, and she went off. The boy sat there for a while and thought to himself: John 3:16...I don't understand it, but it sure makes a cold boy warm. Later she came back and asked him "Are you hungry ?" He said, "Well, just a little. I haven't eaten in a couple of days, and I guess I could stand a little bit of food," The lady took him in the kitchen and sat him down to a table full of wonderful food. He ate and ate until he couldn't eat any more. Then he thought to himself: John 3:16 ...Boy, I sure don't understand it but it sure makes a hungry boy full. She took him upstairs to a bathroom to a huge bathtub filled with warm water, and he sat there and soaked for a while. As he soaked, he thought to himself: John 3:16 .. I sure don't understand it, but it sure makes a dirty boy clean. You know, I've not had a bath, a real bath, in my whole life. The only bath I ever had was when I stood in front of that big old fire hydrant as they flushed it out. The lady came in and got him. She took him to a room, tucked him into a big old feather bed, pulled the covers up around his neck, kissed him goodnight and turned out the lights. As he lay in the darkness and looked out the window at the snow coming down on that cold night, he thought to himself: John 3:16 ...I don't understand it but it sure makes a tired boy rested. The next morning the lady came back up and took him down again to that same big table full of food. After he ate, she took him back to that same big old split bottom rocker in front of the fireplace and picked up a big old Bible. She sat down in front of him and looked into his young face. "Do you understand John 3:16 ? " she asked gently. He replied, "No, Ma'am, I don't. The first time I ever heard it was last night when the policeman told me to use it," She opened the Bible to John 3:16 and began to explain to him about Jesus . Right there, in front of that big old fireplace, he gave his heart and life to Jesus. He sat there and thought: John 3:16 -- don't understand it, but it sure makes a lost boy feel safe. You know, I have to confess I don't understand it either, how God was willing to send His Son to die for me, and how Jesus would agree to do such a thing. I don't understand the agony of the Father and every angel in heaven as they watched Jesus suffer and die. I don't understand the intense love for ME that kept Jesus on the cross till the end. I don't understand it, but it sure does make life worth living. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. -<>- ,,,,, ////""\ . The only real mistake we can make in prayer is in not praying. If we pray earnestly, almost anything we do is better than not praying. After all, no father rejects the child's plea because she did not use the right words or form. He welcomes his child into his arms. Someone has said, "Nothing never happens when we pray." 2. No matter how much you pray, you will never be completely satisfied with your prayer life. You will always feel the goal is out there beyond you somewhere. We must work against perfectionism, that mental disease that convinces us because we're not doing something perfectly, that we should stop it altogether. No matter how ineffective you think your prayers are, believe that they matter to God and keep on praying. 3. The Holy Spirit helps us in our prayer. Romans 8:26 assures us "He helps us in our weakness because we do not know how to pray." The Greek word translated "helps" is a compound Greek verb "synantilambanomai." The "syn" means "together, with us." The "anti" means "opposite to, in front of." And the "lambanomai" is a form of the verb "to lift." Together they tell us the Holy Spirit gets on the other end of our task, opposite to us, and together with us lifts the burden. He does not do this in our place, but works with us. 4. Keep on praying. Persistence in prayer is taught so many times in Scripture. My favorite is blind Bartimaeus in Luke 18. Let nothing stop you from praying. Not your own inadequacy (of which there is much), your own needs (which can be overwhelming), not your fears (which never tire of assaulting you), and most definitely not other people (discouragement is all around us). Just keep at it. 5. Our emotions and feelings are irrelevant to effective praying. We need to rescue our prayer life from bondage to our emotions. You know, "I don't feel like my prayers go beyond the ceiling," or "I don't feel like praying today." When you turn to the Father in prayer, how you feel has nothing to do with anything. Pray anyway. 6. Heaven places the same value on our prayers that we do. If it matters to us, it matters to our Heavenly Father. The widow's mite did not mean much to anyone else in the Temple that day, but because it mattered a great deal to her, it was precious to the Father. This principle holds true for our prayers, our offerings, and anything else we give to the Lord: when it arrives in Heaven, it carries the same value there we placed on it here. 7. Throw away your clock. Jesus said it's the heathen who think they will be heard for their much speaking. The goal in our prayer time is to be real, to touch Heaven, and not to log so much time. Think how insulted your sweetheart would be if you brought along a clock on your next visit, and you kept looking at it to see how much time had gone by so you could feel good about the investment you were making in the relationship. How much time you spend in prayer has little to do with anything. This assumes, of course, that you are spending some quality time with Him each day in prayer. 8. It's not necessary to know the will of God in order to ask for something. Go ahead and ask for healing, for that new job, for this blessing, or that condition to change. What if it's not the will of God? Then, friend, He won't do it. Do not think you are tying God's hands by your prayers. That's why Jesus ended His prayer in Gethsemane with "Not my will, but Thy will be done." He taught us to pray "Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven." My job is to ask. It's the Father's place to sort things out and decide what He wishes to answer and grant. 9. There is a mystery involved whenever we come into the presence of God. We are kneeling before the Almighty Sovereign God, Lord of the universe. Be quiet. Be still. Get alone with Him. Humble yourself. Wait on Him. Respect Him as having sense and quit insulting Him with your pet memorized phrases. Tell Him the truth, what you've been up to and what you're thinking now. Tell Him what blesses you about Him, and what areas of your life you need particular help with. Jesus said God already knows our needs before we ask, but He likes to see if we have figured things out, too. So, go ahead and make your requests to Him. Whatever answer comes, accept that as His will, at least for the time being. And keep on praying. 10. Always keep paper and pen handy when you are praying. My experience is that when you come into the Father's presence in prayer, He will frequently call your attention to something He wants you to know or do. He may tell you someone to see, something to do, someone to call, something to forgive, a verse to look up, a text to remember, a debt to pay, or a neighbor to help. Write it down. Then, go back to your prayer. Expect to receive from Him every time you turn to Him in prayer. When I was a kid on the Alabama farm, times were hard and surprises were rare. But we were always glad when our uncle Johnny Chadwick drove up from Birmingham. He was a police officer with the city and was forever meeting interesting people, getting challenging ideas, and having things given to him. He would bring up day-old cakes and pies from bakeries. He once brought me an old used bicycle, the first I'd ever owned. Once he arrived with a truckload of calves which it became my assignment to feed before and after school. He never came empty-handed. We were always eager to meet Uncle Johnny. How much more when we come to pray, entering into the very presence of the loving Heavenly Father, should we be eager and expectant about what is about to happen. Mazzella When I was a little boy our church was always full of music. We didn’t have an organ, a band, or even a stereo. All that we had was one lady with a guitar, but when she sang I am sure that all of Heaven’s angels must have joined in. During the week she was the music teacher at our local grade school. Many of the children’s songs that still live on in my mind today where learned in her class. It was the songs that she sang during those Sunday services, however, that live on in my heart. I can still hear her sweet guitar and joyful voice leading us in the hymns we sang. Her music and her spirit were full of Heaven’s fire. They brightened you up, warmed you up, and lighted a fire in your own soul as well. My hymn leader, music teacher, and friend moved away before I was old enough to truly appreciate all that she meant to me. I never got to really thank her for lighting a candle inside of me with her generous fire. I never got to let her know that she started a song in my heart that still goes on today. I just pray that where ever she is that she gets to read this and knows how grateful we all are to her for burning so bright. The most important thing that my friend taught me was that Heaven’s fire doesn’t just burn in the hearts of certain people. It is available to us all when we choose it. You can be full of Heaven’s fire too. You can light yourself up with love, joy, optimism, enthusiasm, energy, vitality, and oneness with God. You can brighten up the souls, warm up the hearts, and light up the lives of those around you. You can be a flame of goodness in an often dark and cold world. You can take your flickering candle and turn it into a blazing torch for everyone to see. You can share your generous fire and light a candle inside of each person you meet as well. Don’t let yourself be a smoldering ember in this life. Live well, burn bright, and let Heaven see your fire. Subject: WELCOME HOME VIETNAM VETERANS DAY [WHVVD] It is with great honor, pride and gratitude I write this letter to ALL Veterans who wore the uniform and served with honor. My name is José G. Ramos. I am a Vietnam Veteran Medic who served with the 3/506th Infantry, 101st Airborne Division 1967-68. Upon my discharge, when I returned "home" I knew only one life. That was to be a member of and a medic for the bravest men I ever met in my life, then and now. Upon my arrival "back in the world" in 1968, I knew little if nothing at all about the politics or controversy which surrounded the Vietnam War. What I do recall is being confused about who I was and where I supposedly belonged, either in my home or in my society. It was not long after coming home, that the lies in my life began. I found it easier to deny I had served in Vietnam, I told all who asked during work interviews or to fellow Veterans, that I had served in Germany. I have never been to Germany in my life. In 1986, that monster they now call PTSD attacked my family and my life. For over two decades now PTSD has been a permanent part of my being. With the grace of God, the help of my wonderful wife and the VA system I am alive today. Because of that terrible "homecoming" in 1968 I began a nation wide campaign in 2000, asking the United States Government to recognize the Vietnam Veterans, not with money, not with benefits, but with a simple "thank you and welcome home." Something that would show that America understood and appreciated their service. In conjunction with a my nationwide movement to recognize Vietnam War Veterans. U.S. Congresswoman Linda T. Sanchez introduced H. Res. 189 and U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer introduced S. Res. 269. Both of these bipartisan resolutions were unanimously passed on June 25 and November 19, 2007 respectively, to honor our veterans and extend to them the welcome so many were denied more than 30 years ago. March 30 was selected because of its historical significance as the day the last combat troops left Vietnam at the end of the war. It took eight long years, but with the help of thousands of supporters and the active assistance of Congresswoman Sanchez and Senator Boxer, WELCOME HOME VIETNAM VETERANS DAY [WHVVD] has become a reality. On March 30, 2008 in Whittier, CA. we held the first ever WHVVD celebration at California High School. What started out as a barbeque for about 200 Veterans, turned out to be an event, which hosted close to 3,000 Veterans of all eras and their families. All veterans’ organizations were represented along with VIPs from Congress, current military Commanders, California Superior Court Judges, Mayors, State Assembly Reps, etc. The overwhelming turnout convinced the WHVVD event steering committee of the tremendous desire and need for this celebration. Our event in 2008 was intended to be a one-time event but after the outpouring of happiness and pride expressed by all who attended, the WHVVD organization realized we were not done, and instead came to understand this was only the beginning. That is why I address this letter to you today. A few days ago we sent out to every Governor in the United States a letter asking not for resolutions or proclamations, but legislation which coincides with what the US Congress and US Senate have both agreed and deemed to be a worthy cause. With this in mind, we realized we had accomplished quite a goal. A day to recognize our Vietnam Veterans. But now, today, we strive for a bigger goal. We wish to establish every March 30 of every calendar year as NATIONAL [WHVVD] WELCOME HOME VIETNAM VETERANS DAY, but when this date comes every year we will celebrate the COMING HOME OF ALL VETERANS. I was the originator of this dream, and with my former comrades I believe the time has come to heal old wounds and change the past by what we do today. At the same time we will insure that today's Veterans are remembered and welcomed home. The time is also right to create a future expectation that we all owe a debt to the Veterans who served in any conflict, regardless of how popular or successful the fight may be. We cannot through our neglect, make victims of men and women whose sole offense was serving their country when it called. Our Iraq and Afghanistan as well as ALL other Veterans will benefit from this change in perceptions. I am asking all of you who care about our current and past warriors to take the time to send your Representative in Congress, the Senate, your State Reps and ESPECIALLY your Governor a letter asking them to support legislation proclaiming March 30 of every year as WHVVD. This legislation is not a holiday nor does it ask for any benefits, it will incur zero expense to your State. When you contact me at whvvd@aol.com I will send you a copy of the letter I am asking you to submit along with the link that contains the address to the Reps. Governor in your State. You can cut & paste then print/mail or email your copy of the letter. You can make copies for your friends, neighbors, family and fellow Veterans asking them to do the same. Once our voices and our desire has been heard, it will not belong until WHVVD becomes a national reality. I Thank all of you and wish you God's blessings José G. We thought you would be blessed to read / listen to this Bible-based research article titled: Jesus Christ Our Approach Offering At the top of the article is an audio teaching on the subject. You can right click the link and select Save Link As to download it to your computer / burn to a CD or simply click n play. Here is a little more about this teaching. Even a casual reading of the Old Testament indicates that God did not seem very accessible to the believers living then. This became very clear once the Tabernacle was built in the weeks after the Israelites’ exodus from Egypt. Although it gave people a place to worship God, it also clearly kept them apart from Him. High curtains separated the people even from the courtyard where offerings were burned to God. Only the High Priest could enter the Holy of Holies, where God dwelled between the cherubim, and even he got to go in only one day a year. He took so much incense that even if the place was well lighted (which it certainly was not) he could not see anything anyway. When the Israelites did come to God, they were to bring an offering, which the Hebrew text of Leviticus calls an approach offering. One of the great works of Jesus Christ was to remove all the distance between God and the people and give each believer welcome access into the very presence of God. This teaching goes into some detail on the setup and operation of the Tabernacle, explains the offerings in Leviticus, and then expounds important verses in the book of Hebrews that pertain to the work of Christ. Words cannot express the emotions that I felt as I sat transfixed to my TV this morning. Connor, my three-year-old sat on my lap as we watched America change before our very eyes. To Connor, the scenes on the TV were no different from the black and white Godzilla movies he and his six-year-old brother, Caleb, have been watching lately. Buildings collapsing, people running from the carnage, explosions, and billowing smoke. To him it was just pretend -- a movie that he could stop with the remote at anytime. It was unreal to me also as I tried to deny what was actually happening. But reality sunk in as I saw people jumping to their deaths to escape the fires, people running for their lives as thick billowing smoke and debris chased them down from behind. Palestinians celebrating that the U.S. had been attacked by dancing in the streets and handing out candy to their children. As the minutes dragged into hours, my mind and body went from the numbness of denial to the deep ache that I continue to feel now. Not only has my life changed, but the lives of my children have changed forever. I don't have any pat answers nor words of wisdom for all of you today. I wish I did... If anything I realize that I am powerless to affect the world -- to change it in any way. However, the Lord did give me the power to affect my children. To influence them on a daily basis. To make "their world" a safer to place to live. To live my life in such a way that they will see the Lord in my life and want Him in their lives also. And when that occurs, I will know without a doubt that no matter what happens here on earth, I will get to spend eternity with them in a place that is free from the terrible things I saw on TV today. How about you? Are you placing your trust and faith in a world that seems caught in a downward spiral, or have you placed your faith and trust in the One who has prepared a safe haven for you beyond the clouds if you only accept the free gift He has offered? Time is running out for those of us here on earth, and I believe that the scenes that filled every TV across the world today will become more and more commonplace as we approach the end times... Today, Phil Ware shares some insight on this Day of Terror. May his words touch your heart and start the healing process in all of our lives... >From my family to yours, Michael _________________________________________ Do you feel as if life has no meaning for you? http://www.greatcom.org/english/four.htm _________________________________________ Woe to Me! By Phil Ware "Woe to me!" I cried. "I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the LORD Almighty." ... Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said, "Here am I. Send me!" (Isaiah 6:5, 8) Tragedy that has ripped through the hearts of so many across the world has hit very close to home for many of us in the USA. During this time of horror, shock, injury, and death, how are we to react? While many thoughts come to mind, a few seem clear to us. We must pray. We must pray for the President and for other world leaders as they deal with these series of attacks and the horrible toll on lives of so many people. We must pray for the families of those directly impacted so tragically by the hijacked planes and their targets. We must pray for those who are involved in the rescue efforts and who try to deal with the horrific carnage and destruction to human beings. Pray! Pray in your office. Pray in your home. Pray in your church. We must take a firm stand against prejudice and improper "hurry to judgment" against people simply because of their national descent or race. It is so easy to for us to lump together people of race, geographical, or national origin because of the actions of a vicious few who do not represent them. The Kingdom of God is made up of all peoples and races, and we must be a haven of protection and grace for those who might be treated unfairly because of prejudice and reactive hate. Let's also hear this as a vivid reminder of Isaiah's poignant and sobering words. We live in a fallen world with a dark evil prince who seeks to destroy people and ruin lives with hate and death. In the midst of such a world, let's also live under the strong conviction that the only hope for our world is redemption and unification in the grace of God. After the horrors of World War II, many of those who had been involved in these horrors and brutalized in concentration camps led the Church of Jesus into unprecedented outreach through world missions to the very people who had mistreated, tortured, and imprisoned them. Our call is to redeem a fallen world. This is a sad and sobering remind of just how fallen it truly is. Those of us who still have grave concerns for friends and loved ones who were working at the World Trade Center, The Pentagon, or in the air as passengers, flight attendants, and flight crews request your prayers for their families and us. We are citizens in the world and called by Jesus to redeem the world. Our ultimate citizenship is in heaven, but our heart breaks, along with God's heart, for the destructive hate that still permeates our world and is the tool of the evil one to wound, maim, and kill people who are precious to God. As long as the memory of this horrifying day lingers in our hearts, let's also commit to make a difference in our world by sharing the grace of Jesus. This is a horrible, tragic, and terrifying time. It is also a time for God's people to show who we are with courage, empathy, compassion, grace, and faith as we seek to serve and to be a blessing in such shocking and painful times.
