They checked to be sure that he was a city resident, and when they were done, Anad said, a Marine slipped a coin out of his pocket and put it in his hand. Out of fear, he accepted it, Anad said. When he was inside the city, the college student said, he looked at one side of the coin. "Where will you spend eternity?" it asked. He flipped it over, and on the other side it read, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16." Just as the Pharisees were not too happy with Jesus Teaching in their synagogues. It is sweet, though, because it proves to me why the soldiers are there. People get so upset at the war but they do not realize it has layers. They are there risking their life [layer one] for our lives to be safer back here in America, England, Australia, etc. They are risking their life [layer 2] for the people to be safer AND for them to be set free from tyranny and have freedoms that we already enjoy. Namely to worship whom we choose to. We have freedom of choice and now THEY too have that freedom! How wonderful! They are risking their life to possibly help save the very SOUL of the people [layer 3]. Some may actually choose Jesus as their Lord and Savior because they are now being able to HEAR The Word Of God and Make that Choice in their life! How terrible to never be able to hear the Word of God because is not what the government says you may do! How terrible never to have the choice of eternal life! These soldiers will probably get in trouble for ruffling the feathers of the devout Muslims, but it is what they know and believe and have risked their very lives for - that all people should have the freedom choice to worship as they please! They are only doing as God in His Word has directed them to by Paul The Apostle: 2 Timothy 4:1-8 "1": I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; - This is a commandment that Paul the Aposstle is giving to US - "2": Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. - Preach the Word - even in the war torn pplaces that you are occupying! "3": For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; "4": And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. - They shall not listen to The Word Of Godd but be more inclined to believe the made up fairy tales and lies of other gods and religions then the truth!- "5": But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. - We ALL Have the MINISTRY OF RECONCILIATIION which is to being people back to God through His Word... From The Ministry of Reconciliation - A Sonship Right Before looking at this sonship right, we will explore the meaning of the following two words used in the title: Ministry is 'service'. That means we render service, or 'wait upon' others. It is specifically the labor we do in serving. Reconciliation means that there is a change on the part of one party (person) only, induced by some action by another party. That is, only one person changes their mind, and is reconciled to the other. "7": I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: "8": Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. - This is what we all want to strive to acchieve as believers for God - Visit Here for a teaching on The Five Crowns http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/BibleStudy/fivecrowns.html -<>- >Here is another news story that made me smile... __________ |DAILY NEWS| |&&& ======| |=== ======| |=== == %%$| |[_] ======| |=== ===!##| ejm97 |__________| Pilots run out of fuel, pray, land near Jesus sign Wed May 21, 7:50 PM ET WELLINGTON, New Zealand - It seemed like an almost literal answer to their prayers. When two New Zealand pilots ran out of fuel in a microlight airplane they offered prayers and were able to make an emergency landing in a field — coming to rest right next to a sign reading, "Jesus is Lord." Grant Stubbs and Owen Wilson, both from the town of Blenheim on the country's South Island, were flying up the sloping valley of Pelorus Sound when the engine spluttered, coughed and died. "My friend and I are both Christians so our immediate reaction in a life-threatening situation was to ask for God's help," Stubbs told The Associated Press on Wednesday. He said he prayed during the ill-fatedlight Sunday that the tiny craft would get over the top of a ridge and that they would find a landing site that was not too steep — or in the nearby sea. Wilson said that the pair would have been in deep trouble if the fuel had run out five minutes earlier. "If it had to run out, that was the place to be," he said. "There was an instantaneous answer to prayer as we crossed the ridge and there was an airfield — I didn't know it existed till then." After Wilson glided the powerless craft to a landing on the grassy strip, the pair noticed they were beside a 20-foot-tall sign that read, "Jesus is Lord — The Bible." "When we saw that, we started laughing," Stubbs said. Nearby residents provided them with gas to fly the home-built plane back to base. ---- ...When you are asking God for something, always be specific like these two did - not only did they ask for God's help but they asked for Exactly HOW they needed and wanted to be helped! That is so important! "WHAT WE BELIEVE FOR OR EXPECT IN THIS LIFE, WE RECEIVE. It sounds too simple to be true, doesn't it? But it is true. We never rise beyond where our believing takes us. This applies in every realm of life: physical, mental, material, and spiritual. It is this law which basically controls the abundant life. If we want the more than abundant life that the true God and Father of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has to offer, WE MUST BELIEVE HIS WORD, THEN ACT ON HIS WORD, and expect abundance or we will never manifest the more than abundant life. The key to receiving answers to prayer is to EXPECT that your prayers are answered even as you pray them. You must expect positive results and then act on your positive believing. Jesus Christ spelled it out: Mark 11: 24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. [KJV] Mark 11: 24 I tell you, then whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it and it will be yours. [New English Bible] Now we must study Mark 11: 23 where Jesus Christ further defines the Law of Believing: Mark 11: 23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith." My father had just retired from the Air Force, and my family moved from Zweibrucken, Germany, to South Carolina. I hadn't seen my parents since they bought their new house and moved in, so I was anxious to go see them. I left Alexandria, Virginia, early in the morning, in my 1986 Ford Escort. Somehow I knew my car might have a problem on the trip down south; the odometer had 140,000 miles on it. Near Kenly, North Carolina, my car stopped dead in its tracks. Two young men stopped and offered me a ride, but I asked them to call the police for me instead. Then another car approached, and a kind-looking, older man stepped out. He thought I was his son's girlfriend, whom I resembled. He said he also had a funny feeling -- as though he was pulled into the opposite direction to see who was stranded by the side of the road. But even once he saw that I was not his son's girlfriend, he still offered to help. The man identified himself as a Baptist minister. Just as I knew something might go wrong with my car, somehow I knew I could trust him. He arranged for a tow truck to take my car to the closest garage, then asked me to accompany him to a hospital, where he was due to pray for some patients. He then took me home to put me up for the night with his family. His wife and son were surprised to have a visitor, but were equally hospitable. The son did a double take when he saw me; I guess I really looked a lot like his girlfriend. The next day, the minister drove me to Raleigh airport, the nearest place with a car rental agency, to get a car to finish my trip. My car would be repaired while I visited my parents. The next day, the minister drove me to the Raleigh airport car rental agency, so I could finish driving home. My car would be repaired while I visited my parents. When I returned to Raleigh, the minister had arranged to meet me again. He drove with me to return the rental car, then to the garage to pick up my car. When all this happened, I didn't have much money or experience. I don't know what I would have done if he had not come along. My dad made a contribution to his parish as thanks, but this man's kindness was beyond price. Today, my husband and I try to pay this kindness forward. We both help people who are stranded by the side of the road, and at other times, whenever we can. =======HeroicStories======= >-->From InspiredBuffalo: .---. Balancing Your Soul 2001 has not been brilliant for me so far. There was road traffic accident where an old man died. We have had the burglars. I have faced rejection too. But God, I believe gave me this poem, to keep me going... For every curse there is a blessing, and blessings more beside, For every tear there is a smile, when Jesus lives inside. For every darkness there is light, a promise of God's love, For every pain, there is a gift, that pours from Heaven above. For every season there is a reason, a fitting and measuring - to make... Drake There was once an eagle born, innately fierce and proud, designed to sail with confidence upon the highest wind. On the first day, with unwaivering strength, he learned to spread his wings and to hold them there with his face turned toward the sky. On the second day, to his bewilderment, he was snatched away from the world which he knew in his soul to be his birthright, and was cast into captivity. Still, he lifted his wings often, in pure determination. One clear and blustery day, the wind spoke to him through a single tiny window nestled near the top of the prison walls. 'We are one, it whispered softly in the eagle's ear. 'We will fly.' He rose then, gracefully, to the highest point of the prison. At its uppermost peak, the voices of his captors drifted up, echoing off of the cold, confining walls. 'You cannot fly,' they called to him. Still, he flew and he flew until the voices below embedded their poisonous arrows into his heart and pulled him downward. In slow descent and weakening resolve he landed, dejected, onto the ground beneath him. 'We must clip his wings,' one captor whispered. 'No,' sneered another, 'there is no need. He will not try again.' Time labored on as The Eagle accepted his fate, draining his hopes of a life without limits. Less frequently did he gaze upward through the window to glimpse the blue sky of freedom. No longer could he hear the wind's enticing call to flight. The other birds around him, in secret envy of his grace and beauty and strength, swarmed around him, seeking protection from the predators among them. Honor-bound by nature, The Eagle drew them under his wings and, with longsuffering, endured the pecking away of the birds of prey. At the passing of each crisis, those whom he had protected would flap their wings, fluttering in his face and shrieking at him before resuming their mindless prison games. One dark and stormy day, he glanced without hope once again toward the window. The wind howled ferociously as the other captives cried in panicked frenzy. Alone in a distant corner, The Eagle became still as he heard once more, above the clamour, a whisper in the wind. 'We are one. We will fly,' it said. A dim spark of light flickered briefly before his eyes, and suddenly, with a flash of lightning and a thunderous roar, every light in the prison was extinguished. As his fellow captives shouted and ran desperately, fruitlessly in circles, a powerful wind swept through the prison entrance, rustling through his feathers and stirring his heart. As the fear instilled in him for so long began to vanish, he looked intently around him. In another illuminating flash of light, he saw that the prison door had been flung wide open. And he watched those around him with the revelation that they could not see it for their crippling fear. The hope and courage with which he had been born returned as he strode purposefully to the opening, uncertain of what may await him on the outside. Warnings from behind and from within assaulted him as the others watched his retreat with amazement. With growing determination, he stepped decisively through the door, leaving the prison and its captives behind. Pounding rain attacked him from the ominous dark clouds which concealed the sky above. Thunder shouted angrily in an attempt to stifle the voice of the wind. But now attuned to its voice, he heard its message beckoning to him. 'One more time,' it pleaded. 'Spread your royal wings.' As the storm raged even louder and more threateningly around him, The Eagle faltered, remembering his long forgotten flight of years past. The voice of the wind then bellowed. 'Above and beyond the storm, we will fly. Only then shall freedom be yours to possess.' Disrobing himself of fear and confinement, The Eagle courageously embraced unfamiliar hope to his breast. Obeying the persistent voice of the wind, he began to lift his wings from his sides. When at last he stood, arms extended, he lifted his face to the intimidating sky. With an instinct long buried, he walked slowly forward, moving his wings steadily faster, stronger, in and up and down motion. Now fiercely committed to his journey, he saw before him a cliff overlooking jagged rocks and turbulent sea far below. Without hesitation, he increased his speed and leapt into the whirling vastness. The Eagle looked back one last time toward his prison and faltered. Fear gripped his heart in a ruthless vice. It was all he had known. Would the mysteries that lay ahead cause him to long for the safety of his prison? Once again, an impassioned whisper, the wind called to The Eagle. 'Up here,' it prodded gently, yet firmly. The Eagle turned again to face the turbulent sky before him. Although the torrential rains beat against him unmercifully, his strength increased as he propelled himself higher and still higher. With a confidence he had not known he possessed, he braced himself to enter the menacing clouds. Inside the vortex, endless bolts of lightning took aim. Still he pressed upward. With passion strong, he burst through the hostile clouds. Before him, as far as the eagle's eye could see, lay a shimmering sky of purest blue. Gliding now on a wind all his own, The Eagle stilled his outstretched wings and soared in glorious freedom to a place where splendorous, peaceful light shone above and below. With blossoming confidence, he pumped his wings, climbing toward the utmost peak of the majestic mountains surrounding him. At last The Eagle reached the top. Perched upon the summit of the tallest mountain like a throne was a large rock. As he sailed toward the rock, he saw another eagle flying toward him in the distance. As the distance between them narrowed, he recognized upon her face the awe and wonder of another no longer enslaved. Playful and carefree, they circled the mountain peak and each other, exchanging warm, curious glances one with another. Unknowingly performing a dance as old as time, their hearts flowered into full bloom, led by a poignant song audible to their ears alone. As the evening light began to fade, they gazed into each other's eyes. Therein they saw a kindred soul. In simultaneous, soundless agreement, the two eagles drifted downward to perch upon the rock. Their regal heads held high and proud, their spirits now devoted, they came to rest knowing that, at long last, their hearts were blessedly home, blessedly free. ©1997 Christina L. Drake ---- ... Mazzella VMMMM IMMM/ \MMM M=" I love the story of the old missionary couple. A couple went to Africa to serve as missionaries right after they were married. They had planned to serve only a couple of years and then return home. They soon fell in love, however, with the kind people they had come to help. They stayed on year after year setting up a clinic and a school, helping the people build a sanitation system so they could have clean water, teaching children to read and learn, and sharing their faith and love daily with the villagers that they cared so deeply about. Finally, after over 50 years of faithful work, failing health caused the couple to decide to come home again. They wrote to their hometown community and church to let them know when they were coming. After sailing several days they arrived in the port community that they grew up in. They smiled when they saw a large crowd cheering the boat as it anchored. Their smiles and hearts fell, though, when they saw that the crowd was there to cheer a local politician on the same ship. The old man told his crying wife that he was going to ask God in prayer why after so many years of service not one person was there to greet them when they arrived home. He went into their cabin for several minutes then came out with a peaceful and joyous smile on his face. His wife asked him if God had said anything to him as he prayed. "Yes," he replied. "He said ‘You are not Home yet!’" This is something we all should remember as we journey through this life with all of its challenges, pains, and struggles. We are not Home yet. Home is the place where our loving Father awaits us. Home is the place where our true reward lies. Home is the place where the love we learned, the good we did, and the joy we shared will reside in our souls forever. Rejoice in your life here then. Love, help others and be happy. The lights will be on when you get home. -<>- >Links for Your Enjoyment Idiot http://www.buffalosjokes.com/22619.htm Important Message http://www.buffalosjokes.com/22620.htm Airport http://www.buffalosjokes.com/080304.htm 2481 http://www.buffalosjokes.com/21703.htm 2482 http://www.buffalosjokes.com/21704.htm God Moves When You Move! http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/BibleStudy/godmoves.html Crow Genius http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=1563092911 Animusic 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nA1bNrV2LP4 To Subscribe send a blank email to: the-inspired-buffalo-subscribe@yahoogroups.com ====================================================== >-->From AndyChaps: ,,,,, ////""\ . This week, Max was invited (along with several other famous preachers) to have lunch at the White House with President Bush. Their meeting took place on Thursday and Max shared with us this morning how it had gone. As the ministers sat down to lunch and waited for President Bush to appear, Max said that he was expecting G.W. to walk in the room looking tired, serious, and depressed. When the President came in, Max said he looked totally the opposite of tired: he was energetic, joyful, and very focused on his talk with the ministers. Max asked President Bush how he could seem so calm and peaceful in the midst of all the tragedy. The President's reply was, "I'm feeling stronger now than I've ever been in my life. And the reason is because every person in America is praying for me. When I stay on my knees, that's when I have power." The ministers then asked the President how he would like them to pray for him, and how their congregations back home should be praying. Mr. Bush asked, first, for clarity of mind so that he could make wise decisions, and then he asked that we pray specifically for his wife and two daughters, as he is very concerned about their safety. I knew that you would be as encouraged as I was to hear about this meeting. We must thank God that we have a President who loves and fears the Lord. No human leader is perfect, but God is perfect, so let's keep President Bush lifted up in prayer before the Father. PASS THIS ON TO EVERY CHRISTIAN THAT YOU KNOW AROUND THE WORLD...
