- - - C H O C O L A T E A N G E L P I E - - - MERINGUE SHELL: 2 egg whites 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. cream of tarter Combine the above in a Bowl. BEAT until foamy. ADD 1/2 cup sugar at a rate of 2 T. at a time beating after each addition until all sugar is blended in. BEAT until it stands in very stiff peaks. FOLD in 1/2 tsp. vanilla and 1/2 Cup fine chopped walnuts. Spoon into a GREASED 8 inch pie pan. Make a nest like shell with the sides 1/2 inch above the bottom of pan. BAKE 300 degrees 50-55 mins. FILLING: 1 lb. (16 ozs) semi sweet chocolate tidbits 3 T. Water 1 tsp. Vanilla 1 cup cool whip or 1 prepared pkg dream whip In a med. sauce pan over low heat add water and tidbits.
