Royal Baking Powder 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 1 T. sugar 1 Cup corn meal 1 egg 1/2 Cups buttermilk 4 T. melted butter or oleo In med. bowl, sift the first five ingredients together; add the corn meal, beaten egg, and milk to make a stiff batter. Add the melted butter or oleo and beat until well mixed. Pour into a well greased shallow pan. Bake in 425F oven for about 25 minutes. Break into squares and serve with butter.
