>-------> 1957 HOT SHRIMP COCTAIL <-------< 1/2 Cup chopped onion 1 1/2 T. butter 1 3/4 Cups canned tomatoes 1/2 Cup chopped green pepper 1/3 Cup crumbled salted crackers 1 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. pepper Dash hot pepper sauce 1/8 tsp. nutmeg 1/8 tsp. ground thyme 1/8 tsp. mace 1 Pound RAW Shrimp 1 HARD Cooked egg, chopped Saute' onion in butter until amber - not brown. Stir in tomatoes, green pepper and crackers. Add the seasonings and simmer 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. SHELL and De-vein shrimp, add them to the sauce and simmer 2 minutes. Stir in hard cooked egg. Spoon into individual scallop shells or 1 1/2 quart casserole. BAKE in 350F oven for 15 minutes. May garnish with parsley and hard cooked egg before serving.
