WEIRD RAINY DAYS 2!

Welcome! Come on in! Some Rainy Days turn out to be really strange. Like the weather they had in Nebraska. The afternoon and evening hours of Friday, June 20, 2014, brought numerous severe thunderstorms to Nebraska counties. Although no tornadoes were reported, there were many reports of some very large hail. So what kind of damage can large hail do? They found out the hard way in Nebraska!

It Rained Baseball And Larger Size Hail There! Enjoy! :)

The record for the largest hailstone in the US belongs to an 8-inch wonder that fell near Vivian, South Dakota, in 2010, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. It was the size of a volleyball and weighed just under 2 pounds!       Severe weather events such as these go to show that even 'limited' expectations for severe weather should be taken seriously. Despite this era of advanced weather forecasting science and technology, there are times that Mother Nature 'over-achieves' when the atmosphere becomes primed for storm development.
