Angel Falls plunges from the top of a mesa. It's one of over a hundred of its
kind which are scattered about the Guiana Highlands of southeast Venezuela.
What characterizes these mesas is their massive heights soaring up towards
the sky, each with a flat top and totally vertical sides. Also called table
mountains they were formed out of sandstone billions of years ago. Their
vertical sides are continually being eroded by the action of water from the
heavy rainfall the Guiana Highlands gets.
Angel Falls (also called Salto Angel) is the Earth’s highest uninterrupted waterfall.
It is 979 metres (3,230 feet) tall or 2.5 times as tall as the Empire State Building
and a full 15 times higher than Niagara Falls!
Here Are Some Pictures Of These Awesome Falls. Enjoy! :)
