Marking the Unted States 250 Anniversary, we realize we are constantly evolving, and so is our country. Compared to the rest of the world, the United States is a pretty young country. It's only been around for 250 years, while some have been standing for over a thousand years. Because the nation is so young, it has transformed an incredible amount over the past two centuries. And the places that have changed the most drastically are the cities.       Above is St. Elmo Colorado 1890 vs Now. Just down the street there are quite a few buildings standing. It's a mining ghost town but extremely well preserved thanks to a caretaker in the 1950's and 60s chasing vandals away. We found more then-versus-now photos of places in the United States. It's fascinating to examine how they may or may not have chanced over time.    Here Are Some Of The Best Ones. Enjoy! :) My Family Farm C.1900 - 2000. It Was In Our Family For 125 Years. My Mom And I Sitting On The Stoop Of The Bronx House That's Been In Our Family For 100 Years, Recreating A Photo Of My Great Aunt And Great-Great Grandmother Taken In The '40s. 1993 - Now Another Excellent Restoration Of A Lovely Old House. 1903 - 2018 Theodore Roosevelt Would Be Proud! 1950 - Now - The Pines, Fallsburg, NY. Sad. All over the place public pools got closed or too expensive, and then people complained that kids weren't sportive anymore. 150 Years Apart University Of Montana Now. 1912 - 2021 Grand Central Terminal, NYC. Charlotte, NC. Unsure Of The Year, But I Found What Appeared To Be A Dirt Track Near My Workplace On Google Maps. I Did Some Research And Went To Check It Out. Manhattan In 1851 - Today. And it's sinking 1 to 2mm a year from the weight of the buildings, according to an entry in another BP article.
